Hello fellow riuers i am the 1BMM aka the badman mostly known around the club 600 (The Best Thread on RIU!!) and the outdoor threads. I am currently winding down from one hell of a outdoor season and finally getting around to my ritual indoor winter grow. My "cave" as i call it is a 2x4 constructed room 13' long 7' wide and 6'6" tall tucked away in the back of my basement. I have been experimenting with many diffrent styles of growing over the years and have always wanted to do a Sea of Green.

For this grow i have started beans from several strains: Blackberry Kush, Mango, Salmon Creek BB or Kush?? "its bag seed" from some fire outdoor cali, Dog Kush from my buddy dst of the Breeders Boutique, A mystery bean from a mixed pound of cali bud of Headband-Green Crack-OG Kush-Tha Purps and Purple Kush. Shit was a nice blend up of goodness so the mystery bean is one im excited to be growing. Island Sweet Skunk also bag seed from a Colorado med dispensaries gear, DNA Lemon Skunk, and last but not least 2 JDB Romulan clones from a gigantic vigourous pheno that my guerilla partner and i really liked from our outdoor 2011 season.

At the moment my grow room is 95% reconstructed to its OG condition. I have upgraded my wiring as im in an old house and heavy voltage on old wiring noids me out. Ive added GFCI outlets to all recepticals running my lights and put a few other safeguards in place as far as electrical goes. Ive stopped using puss ass extension cords and made up some 12/3 heavy insulated cording to supply the power to the room where i need it. A note of caution here. It is not ideal to run your ballast from an extension cord as it draws more amperage to deliver the power to it. If you must run your power from another room to your grow room, use the heaviest cording you can find. It will keep the amperage managable and your cord cool. Wimpy orange cords will get hot running a 600 watt hps and may cause a fire running a 1000 even on a short leash of 10ft. And this is just my opinion/experience here. It alsways better to be safe than sorry.

For the lights this grow i will be using 2 1000 watt hps. One a digital ballast from a local grow shop, and the other an Agro-Star magnetic. Suprizingly the magnetic Agro is very quiet compared to my 2 600 watt magnetics which i surmize is an issue of quality construction. Cheapo ebay magnetic ballasts got a loud ass BUZZZZZZZ and we cant be having that. This is a stealth room as i am not a legal grower. Im an outlaw. I would love to be legal but my state is one of the most anti in the union and Med pot is a joke to the powers that be here. However, I dont give a FUCK. I have been an anxiety disorder patient for the better part of my adult life and put on many pharma drugs that i had horrible side effects from. I suggested to my physician many times that i found marijuana to be a remedy for my ailments only to be scoffed and snubbed. As a result i quit cold turkey all pharma meds, told my doc to go fuck himself and now (I) manage MY disorder with pot. I have not had an anxiety attack in almost 2 years now. Thankyou Mary Jane :) Getting back to the grow now.

As i mentioned before i have some 600 watters. I love my 600's and the club aswell ;) The problem is i have a 6'x7' footprint for this grow and a custom made coolhood/reflector i made last winter which can handle that area. My old lights however proved to be a bit weak for the area that the hood covers hence the reason for upgrading to 1000 watts. I am currently using my 600's to veg the seedlings along to there next transplant under MH bulbs. I made the mistake of buying some horrible cheap potting soil to start my germed beans in and the plants hate it. So they will all be transplanted soon.

The medium for this round im going with roots organic 707 mix. Ive heard real good things about this soil and having grown in many mediums im keen to the goodies within and 707 is packed with good stuff. Infact if i had more time id like to add to it and make super soil. But the clock is ticking and all of this is really to get my outdoor strains lined up for the 2012 guerilla patch. Im usally in mid flower of the indoor crop this time of year but im running behind.

For nutrients im going to use FF line. The roots soil should do the job for the most part. I will only be vegging clones for a week max before flowering the hole lot of them so it FF as needed.

And that pretty well covers the intro to this grow. Im going to go get some pictures up here now of the room and the progress. But first i need me a joint :bigjoint:

Making some headway today getting the last of the equipment in place. I need to make a door yet to seperate the veg room from the flower room and hang up my lights. Heres where im at currently.

Awesome!!! glad to have you guys here :)

Things are pretty slow going at the moment with the seedlings vegging up. I did get them transplanted yesterday into the roots organic 707 so they should start taking off now. Ive got 40 2 gal grow bags to fill for this grow. Its going to be a slow process to get to the clones that i will need. Thats the downside of starting over from scratch i guess.

I should have the flower room completed today pretty easily then im going to fit out the veg room and prepare space to keep my mother plants. Ive been readng on plant tissue culture cloning which i may try to save some space. If you haven't heard of ptc its basically cloning on a micro scale in a sterile peetree dish. Pretty cool stuff.

Well thats all i have for now. Ill get up some pics here a bit later. :peace: 1BMM

Damn straight skippy. This will be in the top 5 rooms on RIU for sure. Going with soil this time huh? Didnt dig the buckets, or are you just looking for a different challenge. That hood looks insane, how long is it? Did you take apart your old one to make it or did you find that tube? Subbed fo' sho'.

Thanks for riding along SS glad to have you!!!

Yeah i was not real impressed with the bucket setup i ran last grow. It was a pain in the ass more than anything trying to access the plants in the back of the room was near impossible toward the end of flower. That and i kept getting algae and root rot which took its toll on the overall quality of the plants so, soil it is :)

The hood is 4ft long by 4ft wide which is diamond plate aluminum sheeting that i bent on a large sheetmetal break. The glass coolube came out of my ecosystem vertical hydro machine that i never use. I used some ducting pieces that fit snug on both ends of the glass tube and then mounted the light sockets inside of them. Its a heavy son of a biscuit when its all put together but it works really good. I use a 6" vortex fan to pull the heat off the lights through the cooltube and keeps things nice and cool. I dont know if the 6" fan will be able to keep up to the heat of 2 1000 watters but we shall soon see.

I hated buckets too. Had an ebb and gro and same as you, couldn't get to all my plants easily and root health was always an issue. Hated the tubes. So I drilled holes in the bottom of all the buckets and use them in a flood and drain now.

I use a 6" vortex to cool 2 1ks. It's perfect.

Thats pretty innovative shnk. ill bet its working good to knowing you and your skillful hydro abilities. Also glad to hear that the 6" vortex is working for you with 2k lights. I was really hoping i wouldnt have to upgrade so now i have some glimmer of hope :)

Well its still the slooooooow veg going down here in the cave. Probably started the thread a bit prematurely but ho hum. I always like the build out portion of setting up a grow. I just love putting everything back together all fresh and clean. Its like a new beginning ya know :)

I did get spidermites pretty bad last grow. A combo of shit could have caused the invite to them. Leaking buckets and a few plants literally rotted out completely under the canopy in the far back of the room which we all know an un tidy space will invite the BORG lol. I feel confident that the amount of time from last grow until now has been long enough that they are gone for good.

So yeah not to much new to report. Just grooving along untill i can get 40-50 clones produced from my vegging yins. On a sad note i lost my only lemon skunk which sucks. It just did not like the starter soil i put it in and shriveled up bad. I tryed to transplant it in some RO 707 and as of lastnight it still looked like death.

In the meantime ive been preparing for another outdoor season. Today i spent the entire day hauling horse manure and stockpiling mounds of it to compost down before the spring planting. This will be my first round using horse poo and im freaking stoked. I have a couple buddies that grow in nothing but horsey poo and there plants seem to do way better than mine. I tried like hell to get them to hook me up with some poo but there supply was small and hard to get. So i did some searching around and found a local guy who has a high end horse stable and a massive pile of steamy poo hahaha. I was a stinky freaking day boys i tell ya what. I wound up with 2 flatbed truckloads for $50.00 and enough shit to grow for possibly 2 seasons depending on the recipe of the soil mix i use. I have not done much research as of yet so we shall see.

Good things happening all over man im just stoked :) Well i gotta get some work done here tonight in the cave.. Hopefully ill have some good news from the Lemon Skunk.

I have yet to find a suitable place to grow outdoor near me. I've checked out lot's of different spots that seemed like they'd work pretty well but when I watch them for a few weeks I will always find a good reason not to use it.

I want to do an outdoor bad and, if successful, it could really help me out.

Best of luck to you this next outdoor season!

Now that my pops in law is making me quit, a guerilla grow sounds like my next best option ;)

Badman cant wait to see you pimp that dog!

Yeah Dez finding a spot is probably the most important factor when guerilla growing. Like you ive stalked possible grow sites for months and wound up abandoning them becasue of some sort of activity. Its just really fucking hard to find a pristine chunk of land anymore free of trash and human activity. Remote is the best way to go. Really remote.

There was a guy that was growing 4 plants in the woods here in my hometown inside of the wildlife preserve area/nature park "state owned". Now he was in a good remote spot but early on in the season the park ranger found his site. They staked out his grow all the way until harvest and cought the guy hauling out his bounty red handed.. What tripped me out was that the ATF was the arresting squad over 4 plants. Moral of the story here is stay the fk off public state or gov owned land and your odds will multiply in your favor.

Me too Bill im down to my last oz of DOG from my last grow and i would really hate to run out  lol. This time around im going to keep a eagle eye on the nanners on the dog. Everyone else who grows it out seems to get full plump seedless buds but mine where completely polinated and seeded quite badly. {I also had a room packed full and could not physically reach all nanners} However the smoke was incredible and a standout for sure. I would love to get the dog stable enough to grow it outdoors some day.

i'll be watchin 4 sure
Cool Beans Flowmasta glad to have you aboard.

Lemon skunk you say...just tap your heals together three times and make a seed fairy wish.
You know Headsup your just alright in my book. I really mean that bro :)

Well my friends ive got a journey ahead for the next few days sos i wont be around to update. Got to train my girl up on how to care for the yins while im gone. I did snap up a few pics of the boring cave lastnight which ill post up here tonight when i get more time.

Peace 1BMM
