Thanks man I was looking to hear that, that seems like the most efficient thing I could do given my situation. Nice and simple and the price of low, thanks. I actually was thinking the same thing, bring them off the slop so the water would settle instead of run. What do you mean by drilling a hole near one of the edges?
Basically, you drill near the edge, then you can adjust the water level by taking it off and turning it. So, if you want the water level really high, you put the hole near the top. If you turn it, and put the hole near the side / bottom, you'll change the water level - this way, you have total control and only need one rubber end per pipe.

Alright I'm actually diggin' that idea quite a bit, another question, with that method how would you get the solution back into the res?

Word, thank you. very helpful bro, once again i have another question haha. Do you think I could veg in rockwool right into the point of being ready for the system?

Also, when before i start vegging, should i soak my rockwool in a nutrient solution before hand? and if so how long should i soak it?

You should always pre soak rw before use, reasons why, you need to lower the inner ph of it to 5.5 and at the same
Time your mixing your water add a light amount of nutes say 300 ppm and some root exel of some sort, i like thrive alive!
Once this is done soak your rw for 12 to 16 hrs then use. This method will get you great results

thanks a lot..what if i was to use rapid rooters instead? I heard the pH is more balanced and stable with those. Also this may sound stupid, but how do you determine ppm. i understand parts per million but i haven't been in a science class in a while. How would you determine you're ppm, like what amount is it.

This would be where that Tri-meter comes into play!:eyesmoke:

For sure, one of those would come in handy. Is there anyway you could go about not purchasing one for a while? pockets are a little tight right now

This is my system. And yes it works well with clones rooted 2" long.

396 might be to big. But how I fixed that was adding a 1/2 shutoff valve and adjust to so the flow was right.
