A morbidly obese woman has been acquitted of murdering her 2-year-old nephew after her attorney crafted an irrefutable defense.
Mayra Rosales admitted to rolling over and falling on her nephew back in 2008.
Rosales claimed her fall crushed her nephew to the point he suffered a fatal head injury. Investigators did not buy the story, but were forced to proceed with the murder trial. Expert testimony revealed the childs death was caused by repeated blows to the head, chest and limbs.
Defense for Rosales claimed there was no possible way the obese woman could have caused her nephews death. The 31-year-old woman weighed more than 1000 pounds at the time of the murder and could not lift her arm high enough to get the force required to cause such a deadly blow.
Rosales finally admitted it was her sister, the boys mother, that beat the child with a hairbrush after he refused to eat.
