Well I finally made my appointment at 11th state. I didn't consider that it was a 5-6 week waiting list. But time has gone by quickly and I'm getting ready. Getting all my medical records together today. What a chore this is. I have a lot of paperwork to go through. Should I highlight things or anything like that? I want to make it as easy as possible for them. I'm on my way to the VA Hosp to get all my Xray and MRI findingsd, progress notes ect. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks T32

Couldn't hurt but you should be good to go with what you have and $300

You should be good to go. Just have everything sorted in a nice order for them to make it easier... obviously and an a payment method. It would be nice if insurance was billable for it, but it's unfortunately not. That's the cost-benefit of going to see them vs your talking to you PCP though... privacy at a cost.

Did you notify them you had all of that paperwork? I was in-contact with them via email first, then when I called to schedule I mentioned what I had in hand. Due to a cancellation, they called back the next day and asked if I could come in 2 days later. Great people and I'm almost certain they turn people down - which is how it should be! Not a free for all like some places that did exsist and do exsist like in CA.

Thank You Platowin and Buddy232,

Yes, I know the $300 is a sticking point but I would spend at least that much in my hunt for a compassionate PCP. I already spoke to him about it but he's a Federal employee so his opinion wouldn't matter. It's a conflict of interest and all with the way the Feds look at MMJ. They know that I prefer cannabis over pain meds anyway. They won't prescribe me any opiate based medications because of it. On my medical records they have cannabis use (it actually says abuse) as one of the first entries for every visit.
I talked to 11th state about my carpal tunnel diagnosis and the nerve damage with my legs (I have EMG test reports for both). I have many other conditions to talk about as well but I spared them all the minor problems. I have a plate and 9 screws in my right wrist, a broken left hip, torn meniscus in both knees, torn PCL's in both knees. Chronic LBP degenerative disk disease and I just got the MRI results from my neck today. Looks like I have cervical spondylosis with neural foraminal narrowing along with bone spurring and broad based osteophyte disk complex. Whew that's a mouth full. Anyway I can't wait till I can start to medicate by cooking with MMJ. I hear that is really the way to go when it comes to pain releaf!

p.s I'm going to call to let them know that if they have any cancellations I'm available every morning of the week! Never thought they would get cancellations but I'm sure they do. I already have the day out of work, this can't be put off any longer than it already has.

Ouch! I had an EMG this week and an EEG the week before. I've had both in the past, so at least there weren't any surprises right. How come we get the painful tests!

That's a plethora of symptons Tranka. Thankfully the doc is a wonderful person and is very compassionate... she will understand every word you say. Your on the right path to healing.

I know it was painful for sure but was really interesting at the same time. I'm glad for the reassuring words. :)

Isn't it! How many people can say they've listened to their muscles! Although mine didn't have much to say, haha.

Any other help you need there is a lot of us here!

We should all be for more access not less. MMP should not be a club. Some people have conditions that are unseen or not covered under RI state MMP.

Just something to think about.

I'm all for full on decriminalization and eventual legalization! Until that time has come this is all we have and it should be run in accordance with state law. If everyone in the state would write their congressmen and get out and vote it wouldn't be long until that dream is realized. I have way to many friends that enjoy the benefits of MJ but are not willing to put their name out there in public to support it. The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned!

Untrue. The seventh qualifing condition is and states "Severe, debilitating, chronic pain-(specify)". I think I read 90% of people qualify under that.

Personally I qualify under one of the other 11 and I had 5 years of supporting documents. I'm sure Tranka will as well... such as #9 or 10 on the list. Even me, I still feel odd about being in the program - because I personally know people in it who are in far worse shape than I am.

I said what I said because it's not the most difficult to get into the mm program as a patient or caregiver, even if you don't have a "severe or debilitating" condition. That's okay with me. However if you'd like to legally treat whatever condition you have with mj then do it with respect to the program. There are some people who blatently want to be in the program with no wellness in mind.

I believe that if a person wants to self-medicate on cannabis, for whatever reason (coping with stress, anxiety, pain, etc.) if they have to stretch the wording about a severe or debilitating condition, then good for them. As long as they stay within the system.

My statement was an opinion therefore how can it be untrue? I agree with what you said just perplexed by the untrue statement?

Your absolutely right NB! I apoligize my friend and hope you accept.

Might we scratch "untrue" with, "I disagree". With the information I posted, I personally feel an informed doctor could justify to the DOH their findings (if questioned) for just about any condition given the ability to reccomend for chronic pain and mental illnesses. For sure that is good, as a lot of people would be left out if not. And some cases are obviously more clear cut than others which is why it really helps to bring as much data with you to best explain your ailment and why you do what you do.

I wonder if the qualifying condition is the reasoning for some of the delays? Part of it. For example my reccomendation lists I think #9 and beside it says Rx notification, epilepsy in parenthesis. I was advised of the wait but I got my approval back asap.

Today went well, got my consultation and recommendation. Met some great professionals at 11th state consultations and mailed in my paperwork and payment. Now, over the next 4 weeks or so I will be getting together some equipment so I can get growing my own medicine! Suggestions welcome. I figure my only option is a small tent and a cab for now. I think 2012 will be a good year for me. Yes!!!! :blsmoke:

Jeosone, I'm trying to at least start with a 3x3 tent and a closet / cabinet type situation. How's your situation going? I remember you had a tent set up. Any help will be appreciated. I'm looking around at what I can sell off to make sure that I'm set up ASAP for sure. :peace:

my setup is great, and still improving and upgrading different parts of it as i go. i got to my first harvest and made out pretty good :D not bad for a first time, gonna have another harvest going soon. my space is 5x5, even in a 3x3 space you'll make out just fine im sure. highflyr gave me lots of advice hes a great source of information. i can def say that making your own will be cheaper and save you a good chunk of change you can put towards a nice exhaust fan or vented hood. good luck man! never be afraid to ask for help!
