21 a pop for 6 or better. for 126 dollars, i can fill your living room, and your car, with a great, nutritious medium. i make up a super soil, very rich, and then just pick up peat and my expanded materials. i don't buy nutes, either. except for some seaweed/fish emulsion. i use homemade nutes. with great results.

its expensive but IMO worth it.. Its a big bag and I can fill 2 5 gallon pots with 1 bag and still have about 1/2-1 gal left over. If i were you i would pick up fox farms Light Warrior as well and use a mix of 2to1 ocean forest to light warrior. From personal experience, i just picked up light warrior but i have been using just ocean forest with great results. Dont use ocean forest for your seedlings though, Light Warrior is the best for that, then transfer into ocean forest when you repot. I highly recommend picking some up to try. plus the soil already has all the additives you need in there except you can mix dolomite lime and just add 2 cups of the dolomite lime to each bag of ocean forest and it will and you will rarely see problems under good conditions because it keep the soil from getting to acidic, therefore keeping the ph stable. Fox farm all the way.

Yea, thats pretty expensive. I'm guessing that you live in a non-medical state, and probably not on the west coast. When I used to live in NY many many years ago, FFOF was about $25 a bag, I can only imagine what its going for out there now. I can get it in cali for $10/bag, and here in oregon for $13/bag.

I would recommend getting it, because its pretty good soil. But I'd also say to keep recycling it, as long as you keep amending it, and dont use chemical ferts, it can keep going for years.

Damn bro thats a lot, I'm currently using MG moisture control. My plant is growing pretty good so far. I got the soil from Home Depot, cheap price.

Yeah man that's pretty high, 20.99 for that matter isn't a deal, it's standard retail for that item on the east side of the country. We have shops here that will sell it just as promotional/get you into the door type item for 16.99. I know on the west coast you can get it even cheaper. Do they have any other soils? Or you could do what scroglodyte said and make your own mix. Best of luck to you..

Its about 16-18 in Washington state. I think it is worth it but I also mix it with Sunshine mix and get excellent results. I'm not sure it Sunshine mix #1 or #4 is considered Organic.

Somewhere in Iowa I saw an Earl May garden shop that had one bag for $15.99. Iowa is no where near a medical state so I was surprised to see it. The place seems to be getting a little larger organic selection, but I am a hydro person. I wish they would start carrying some hydro nutes like Dutch Master.

i agree with everything this post has to say minus not using it for seedlings.. i start my grows from seed every grow and have been using fox farms ocean forest straight for my seedlings for like 3 plus years now and have never had an issue burning my babies..
i do read a lot of people on here saying it's too hot for seedlings, but i think a lot of them are just repeating what they've heard from other people and don't really have any experience with it themselves..

I've gotta agree with everyone else that says it's too hot for seedlings. Personally, I'd never use it straight from the bag for seedlings or cuttings. I've burned (espically) seedlings bad with it in the past, so I've never done it again. This is just my own personal experience's with it, not saying other's can't do it without any problems, just saying that I've done it and had problems, so I don't do it anymore.

All I really use for seedlings & well-rooted cuttings now is just straight peat moss with perlite. Their roots are very tender and sensitive to any kind of stress or nute burn when they are that young, so I don't wanna do anything to stunt them. When they start getting a complex root system (that fills about a cup of soil), then I will transplant into re-amended recycled soil. Just my 2 cents.

You need to get rid of the miracle grow asap! It has all kinds of chemicals it it that while is perfectly safe for food bearing plants, you for sure don't want to smoke them
