How much does it cost you to prouce per ounce?

Simple question...I figure it costs me about 60 per oz in total expenses....that's a one person, 6 in flower 6 in veg rotation running tons of lights, co2 a/c dehumidifier and all the goodies. Just wondering what others feel it costs to produce...

That should be produce in the title..won't let me edit...

soil, nutes , lights , and tacking a little on for extra bulb every round or two . I'd say 50 bucks . without replacement of light maybe 35

You factoring in your equipment? Factoring in lights and everything (excluding labor) , $27.75 per. But I grow 7 lb at a time. If you dont factor in the lights or labor, it's pennies. I spend about $25 to $30 per grow in nutes. 72 plants = 112 oz = .26 per oz.

Oh. I thought I might be on the high side...I do like to overlight my sativas...I was just trying to get an idea, so that I could understand why some guys think their meds are worth sooo much...
Lmao.....

Look at it from my point of view.

I wheel and deal on everything for my grow.
I honestly can't remember the last time I paid sticker price.
I get hydro farms for less then people pay for HTG supply equipment.

My hydro farms hinged reflector hoods only ran me $75, my dimmable 600 Lumiteck ballasts only cost me $189.
My 1000 watt dimable's only ran me $249 and my ushio bulbs go for $124.99 and I pay about $85 each.
Hell, we got out 60 spot ez cloner for $291.94 delivered.

And I'd rather brag about how much I save then how much I spent.
So there is now way I can change it up when it comes time for compensation for the costs that I incur.

The vast majority of my costs are electricity. I grow organic and mix my own soil...organic ferts are cheap. Bulbs are my only other expense that adds up. I get the hortilux right around 95 bucks, but can't squeeze changing them more often into the program.

We grow in a grow house that has it's own meter and we run an average of $300 a month in electric.
That with a total of 6800 watts, (5 400's 3 600's 3 1000's ) 2 6inch inlines 3 6 inch boosters and 6 oso fans.
We use the heat from the bulbs to heat the entire house so we save on heating costs.

If you grow 7 pounds at a time I think $27 is a good estimate. Someone I know does 6-7 at a time with like 6k watts I think, but I think they are the more medium yielding TGA strains. He estimated around $20, nutes, CO2, etc, etc.

The easiest way to do everything though is by modifing a common financial analysis equation that businesses use. Figure out what purchases are fixed (equipment mostly for this example) and what ones variate (like nutrients, soil, bills, etc).

Take your fixed purchased, say a ballast and figure out how many grows that will last and divide that number by it's price. Figure out how many grows your bulb will last and divide that by the price. Do the same for your hood but you can sell that (there's equations for that crap too but forget about it). Although nutrients can be bought in bulk - they don't last like equipment... so they are variables. Figure out how many grows, divide by the cost. Then do the math for all your electric consumption for the few months to figure out how much of your bill is for this equation... or buy one of those "kill-a-watt meters".

FINALLY, take that them and divide it by your final weight.

Please point out if I messed up. I'm tired. :)

I really appreciate you guys giving me hope.
I am one of the ones that over-spent on everything. I am a victim of the medical marijuana industry. I read all the high times and skunk magazines, bought a fuck ton of everything. Set it all up, fucked a bunch of shit up. I kept looking shit up online and a google search usually sent me here. The more I read, the more I realized I was fucking up. I should have started here. I will not say how much I have invested. lol. But I take comfort knowing I am not alone. I am on track and I see who is running efficient grows. I think the more money equipment costs the more shit it needs to operate. I hear you guys talking about only working a few hours on your shit and hardly spending any money and I am like what the fuck are they talking about? lol.
Some of these tips on here save thousands of dollars. I mean if you have a few ebb n gro bucket systems going with 110 gallons of nutrients changed weekly using General Hydroponics expert line which is for some crazy reason 10 different bottles of expensive bullshit. You take that versus using super soil mix. That is thousands of dollars. I am waiting for a thread for one of you fucking geniuses showing me how to go to home depot and take about $300 worth of shit and build a generator to run all this shit. lol. Some wood boiler to burn my used soil in and heat my house and garage, then use the ashes to grow even better weed. lol. Man I love weed and the internet.

I think most have fucked up plenty getting going. But once you figure out a routine, and have the equipment in place, It comes down to the electric bill for the most part.

Do you use your light's the same way all the time. I have 3 400's 3 600's 3 1000s (one of those is a growzilla with dual light and I go 600hps and 400 mh blue). I am switching shit up all the time, building walls. Fuck dude. I bought the 3 400's with a tent set-up (mortgage lifter fucking $2500 on ebay) I just plan on using them for veg. Do you use any as supplemental lighting for sides or just veg.

OK, I'm an idiot!! The $30 in nutes didn't count power, so it costs $930 (high side) to do 112 oz = $8.30 per.
