Will topping plants help against mold?

Topping a plant will just lead to more even bud sites instead of one large cola. If your grow area is above 60% humidity you need to get a dehumidifier.

Good Luck

Humidity is humidity, no matter how tall your plants are, no matter how much topping you do (which as said will create more bud sites). The more plant matter you have in the room, will also affect the rooms humidity due to transpiration. Need to bring it down, or have a good amount of air exchange to keep it from starting mold. Best to do the dehumidifier, but a fan blowing across the plants will help prevent it too.

dehumidifier outdoors eh? I can see that working out well....Mold has always been a big issue for me, my strains apparently do not have a very good resistance to mold. There is particular strains that claim to be mold resistant, that might be something to check into to. I would harvest top buds earlier, like at 6-7 weeks, and lower buds later on, its those big buds that are prone to mold. I don't think topping would help much agaisnt mold. I suggest researching an item called Neem oil, your just simply supposed to apply it to your plants every so often, and its a natural pesticide and insecticide, and its supposed to be a big help with keeping mold away. Hope that helps.

Grumpy - not sure where you can plug that dehumidifier/ fan in the middle of the bush.
Prob not bro, topping will give u several bud sites, losing the solid xmas tree structure and the buds tend to flop onto the muddy ground after heavy rain if you havnt tied all the branches up.

Buwahahaha. My bad on the outdoors. I click new posts, and am guilty of not checking the sub sections to see where it's at.

Yeah, it is a tad confusing when growing outdoors is a sub-cat under The Grow Room. I guess it qualifies if the outdoors is your room.

I thought this was an OUTDOOR grow thread area. A dehumidifier isn't going to help. Unless you guys are speaking of OUTDOOR inside a greenhouse...which, to me is Indoor...really. You would treat it as such, yeah?

love how ppl get confused, ne way no topping wont prevent mold. theres alot of preventive measures to avoid mold. it doesnt include topping. ur key things to prevent mold imo are good air flow( wind isnt blocked by large trees) and good morning sun, and should some mold occur, cut it out rite away and then some to make sure it doesnt spread
