it would be 18" by 18" by 18".9 gallons of soil is 1.5 cubic feet as well.
IMHO I would go wide two feet deep you can reach your goals with a little tlc. Check out my threads they are all small wholes with pound plants.keepem green dirrtydJust woundering if any one has experiance with digging a hole to fit 1.5 cubic feet of soil? Im thinking 3 feet wide by 2 feet deep. Is it better to go deep or wide?
i dnt think its thaty cut n drywider is better
im not saying that. im sayin theres more to it than just that, ppl have had great success growing in wide pots, and have had great success growing in deep pots. all im sayin is it not just as simple as, widers better and thats that, theres a lot more to it,look at any pics of successful big plant grows, the pot or smart pot is always wider than tall, usually abou 18" high and36" wide
the roots will find ther way regardless, and root grow wide to get nutrient? no, roots grow any direction in search of water, ur soil dries. and the roots go in search good moist soil, now say ur growing in the ground. depending on where u are, ur plant or any plant really, may collect its best water content no more than a foot from the surface,or have to go deep in search of good soil, growing shouldnt be as strict and guidelined as much as eveyone makes it, be open minded, but when you can only go so much becuase you only want to use one bag... the question is what would you do go wider or go deeper. will the roots grow wider to get the nutrients.
