Big Island Bag Seeds - First Stealth/CFL Grow

Aloha from the rainy town of Hilo, RIU community! Today will begin what I hope to be a lifelong journey. After a pair of weeks aptly studying these forums (which are immensely helpful!), I have begun my first grow and today is day 1! Needless to say I am anxious and excited.
My indoor grow will consist of:
-Some bagseed mid grade(ish) Diesels
-An 18 gallon plastic container
-FoxFarm Ocean Forest soil
-42w 2700k CFL
-13w 2700k CFL
-3x 14w 5000k CFL (~97 watt total)
-A homemade pot
No fertilizers/nutrients as of right now.
Working on a ventilation system but for now the lid is off and my room fan is keeping it nice and breezy in here.

In general I'm not expecting much at all, merely the experience and (hopefully) joy. I am always open to criticism and feedback and I also have a question. *Are those 5000k 14w CFLs up to their job? Would 6500k CFLs be worthy of investment?

Howzit, this will be day #2. She's experienced some good growth, but she's lanky. How can I remedy this? Also, a bit yellow. How can I feed such a small plant nitrogen? Thanks for stopping by. Seedling posts too interesting hahaha!

you have nice little setup a yes i think those bulbs will do iv'e herd 20 watt min but that's just not true its the lumens that mater if anything move the lights closer(turn the y adapter so both bulbs are close). and do you have any ventilation ?

Thanks for the feedback . Right now my ventilation is from me cracking the lid on the container and blowing my stand-up fan near the top (not blasting the whole 24" fan inside, just a part of it). I have also moved my lights closer! CFLs giving off barely any heat at all.

EDIT: What would be the earliest I could start LST?

Nice start man, you shouldnt worry too much about the yellow seedling. It should turn green in the next 24 hrs. And you can start LST soon, ive seen people start once the first nodes come out. I just started like 3 or 4 days ago. Just be sure to be very gentle. Anyways take it easy, happy growing!

hey wats good to answer ur question yes 6500k is well worth it 5000k is more of a whiteish blue 6500k is blue and is said to be needed for plants in veg. it would be more efficient if u ditched the low watt bulbs get bulbs with 20+ watts or greater so you will have more lumens with less light bulbs if you have the expenses to do so. less bulbs = less heat u know .... maybe u sholdnt ditch the low watts they could come in handy for side lighting of the bottom of the plants and they put out little heat. it would also increase lumens. i like to try to keep things close to how nature is ..for my grow i used all ddifferent kinds of color temp for veg more 6500k then 2700k and vice versa for flowering. i also added 5000k light and a 10000k dark dark blue uvb aquarium light with great results. towards the middle of my grow i got a mh light with a 400w 3200k bulb (whiteish yellow) the sun puts out all color temps so why shouldnt we? so i did! the more lumens (brightness) the better. and without a doubt u are definitely going to need a bigger box. taller and wider but definitely taller 12hrs of darkness = alot growth . and as the plant gets bigger the roots get bigger to length and width wise. a big plant in a small pot can get stunned of growth which equals less yield. if u got a taller pot u would have less length for ur plants to grow then u do now which would be a nightmare. im not trying to be an ass and shit just helping u out. if u have the funds buy something u can use as grow box and build ur own then get the lights and ventilation. i bet u could grow in ur current box doing a SHIT-TON of lst'n but like i said pure nightmare it will be..... subscribed peaceGlock

and fyi diesels are diesels how it was grown and cured made it midgradeish but those seeds if they came from an all female crop should be females or hermiis (male and female parts) but the females carry this hermi trait and could grow a male part whenever during the flowering stage if stressed or when the buds are ripe and the plant knows it will die soon i would educate u more on this but my hands hurt cuz im on RIU via my PS3 and i dont have a keyboard just an on-screen keyboard and a ps3 controller

Thank you both for stopping by! I have been reading up on LST for a while and am going to give it my best shot. My current lighting setup will do until she gets older, I do expect to invest more money in better lighting and hopefully a better box of some sort before the time she gets too old for my current setup. I now have 2x 120mm pc fans for intake/exhaust, it works quite well. I need to gather a few more items such as ph meter/nutes etc. but for the moment I believe I should be good. We'll see what I can do with this box for now, being my first grow. Stay tuned folks

My plant is on day 3 and she has grown lanky and tall once again. I had to bury her up to her leaves once already, covering about an inch of main stem. She decided to stretch out again. I assume it is a lighting problem and I have moved them closer and added some lights. ATM my lighting is 2x 14w 5000k CFL and 42w 2700k CFL. I assume this is efficient for a 3 day old plant, but maybe I don't know better Any suggestions?

Day 4 of growth is superb. She has a nice, deep green color. As far as her lankiness goes, I will be using a combination of LST and super cropping. A pc will be posted shortly

Yes my box is tiny, but I am busy as of recently so I have not had the time to sit down and make a good one, preferably fashioned from wood. Anyway, I don't think you can see it in the first picture but there are tiny new growths in the center (exciting, I know). Second picture is my setup and something I forgot to take a picture of- my ghetto-rigged ventilation system. It works great.

Lol I know... Day #5, not too sure about what I should do concerning her height, she is leanin' right now but I'm sure the light will perk her up. I was wondering if LST would fix this problem and if so, when should I begin? Thanks for stopping by.

EDIT: I replanted her as I have done some reading and see this to be a viable solution, picture two demonstrates after the replanting.
