I can see a racist motive in using misleading statistics to argue that welfare isn't more of a black thing than a white thing. For decades now, we have been paying reparations under many other names. For that to continue, there has to be "discrimination" to be made up for. But WTF? We elected a black president by a wide margin. How can there be so much discrimination? Where's the evidence?

The evidence long pointed to is the fact that all manner of social ills have been far more prevalent among blacks than whites. Welfare, crime, substance abuse, unwed pregnancy, high school dropout, unemployment etc. And mind you, this is the voice of the black leaders saying this. Now londonfog comes along and says, "NOT TRUE."

LOL
You want to see discrimination? 90% of black people voted for Obama. Now that is discrimination...

All I know is regardless of race creed or any other Bullshit I wish someone would come talk to our area about jobs. There are a lot of every group suffering right now, I wish my community could get that kind of attention. And honestly the last thing I would do is bitch about someone trying to look out for me, just sayin.

The face of racism in america has been black for about 20 years.

We should have picked our own damn cotton.
Racism and "reverse racism" are both wrong. I'm willing to bet you wouldn't last 20 minutes picking cotton. That was a pretty silly comment you made though, considering the atrocities that DID happen.

There's no reverse racism. Reverse racism would be no racism at all. Racism is racism whether white on black or black on brown.

Maybe I'm misunderstand you - are you saying we should NOT have picked our own cotton? That we (the british) "should" have imported slaves to do it?

That's why I put quotes around "reverse racism". ....What I'm saying is given the context of your previous commentary and the dialogue and maybe my inaccurate interpretation I think you're backpedaling now. If I'm wrong I apologize. I don't believe in "we" or "them" when it is applied in a collectivist way....I think we are all responsible for our own actions as individuals. I thought you were being a wise ass concerning picking cotton, can you honestly say you weren't?

I'm not backpedaling. I was not being a smartass, except to the extent that I find it unavoidable.

It seems to me to be a very central question - should the colonists have picked their own cotton (hired white employees)? Or should they have done as they did and imported slaves?

It's a straightforward question but an awkward one since people are often puzzled about which answer is right.

Okay here's a straightforward answer...
If somebody is "puzzled" about which was right, I submit somebody has their head up their ass. Keeping humans in bondage against their will is always wrong. I'm not responsible for what happened 200 years ago, but I sure can say it was wrong.

Back on topic....A newt is a slimy creature that lives under rocks.

Wow you guys are dense, how would you feel if he said he was going to go to your convention and teach you about the value of paychecks over foodstamps...hes not being 'nice'...he is being (in his own words) a pompous ass......to say that a race doesn't understand the value of paychecks over foodstamps this is obviously racism and a dickhead thing to say...

What if he said he was going to go to the Cannabis Cup and teach us stoners how to get jobs?

OK. But I've also heard it said, that saying we should have picked our own cotton means it would be better if all those black families had never had their ancestors brought to america. Black people in america today are the most affluent black people in the world. If we could go back in time and pick the cotton, most of that would be wiped out. I wonder if NCAA has a position on that?

By the way, my ancestors came to america in the early 1700s as refugees from war and famine in what is now the Rhineland of Germany. Do I wish that war and famine had never happened? I don't applaud war and famine, and maybe I'm being selfish, but I'm glad my ancestors came to america.
