Electrical Wiring Question

I want to run a 600w HID soil setup in a garage cabinet. I've only got one wire coming off a 15amp breaker going in the room. Will this be enough or do I need to add another breaker and run another wire in there? Give me a gut feel, this is my first grow and not sure what all i'll need to make it happen.

15 amp breaker can handle 12amps consitantly 12 amps x 120 volts = 1440 watts safe to run

Yes. easily enough. All my downstairs runs off a breaker less than that

what else is on the circuit? garage door opener? ever run power tools?

Just one overhead small cfl for lighting the room. Nothing else will be drawing from this circuit aside from the grow requirements. Thanks everyone, think im good then!

Thats a scary thought, and one of the reasons pot grows and growers have a bad name in the community - what are you running in there? If you've got more than a 600 and a couple of fans its too much. You never, ever exceed the safe draw on a breaker.

Like I say, do not exceed 1440 watts on that circuit.
