I know I am horrible , but I can't bring myself to trash my plants as someone suggested I do . So I am going to add on and upgrade as I go . My plants are la confidential clones that i recieved in cubes that i transplanted into little 4 inch square pots with peet and vermiculite cause its what i had , they were under two cfls and i was able to get some soil after a couple weeks , unfortunately miracle grow soil , I transplanted them into 1 gallon pots , i know too small right? after prob 2 or 3 more weeks in the 1 gal pots under the 2 cfls i aquired 4 250 watt mh off craigslist. I only set up 1 light for a couple weeks , oh and i got mites of course , my own fault i know from such poor grow conditions, im battling them with ortho elementals diluted and hot shot , planning to get some azamax soon , have some black leaf 40 but i'm scared to use it. I transplanted them into five gallon home depot buckets on Christmas Eve , then a couple days later I built the terrible little wood and cardboard only half finished hut that they are in. Right now they are starting to grow better and i am bending them over and the lower little branches are starting to grow up. I just started feeding them some botanicaire pro grow that ive had for a couple of years, this is like the extreme extreme budget garden.DSC02207.jpgDSC02217.jpgDSC02215.jpgDSC02212.jpgDSC02208.jpgDSC02211.jpgDSC02210.jpgDSC02209.jpgDSC02214.jpgDSC02213.jpgDSC02216.jpgDSC02222.jpgDSC02221.jpgDSC02220.jpgDSC02219.jpgDSC02218.jpgthe seedling is a seed from a sack of some kinda kush , its in a mix of 80 peet 20 miracle grow soil , gonna transplant it soon .these pics are a few days old.

As long as your learning from your mistakes, but in this game you cant afford to make too many. I wouldnt use alu foil for reflectors, get yourself some mylar, its like £5 per square meter. Im growing on a tight budget too, check out my first grow journal which is now completed, maybe you can learn something from MY mistakes. https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/479778-my-first-grow-auto-critical.html

:bigjoint:
thanks for your reply , yah thats tin foil covering the holes that the previous owner cut in the back of the reflector trying to make air cooled lights , they were connected with ducting but losing a LOT of light .So i took off the ducting and am directing the light back down with tin foil , i know it sucks but better than losing all that unreflected light.

so the guys at no stress hydroponics said that the 1 drop per gallon of superthrive is bs and to use at the least 1 ml per gal. Is this true? Does ne1 just use 1 drop?

so does anyone have anything to say about running four 250 watt lights instead of one 1000 watt light for flowering?

4 250's will give you more spread and less penetration. If you keep your plants small, you will be able to grow more with the 250's. I would take some time to give some serious thought about your electrical wiring tho. You may be risking a fire

thanks for your reply , and yah im pretty paranoid about the fire hazard but they look a lot worse than they are , they arent hot and the connections to the ballasts stay cool too , also there is a smoke detector right over everything.

I replied to your other thread but I'll keep up with this one instead. I would feel free to use that black 40...whatever it is. Nicotine solutions have been used for pest control for a long time. My mother used to use to to keep bugs off her plants when growing back in the early 80s, but those were outdoor. Assuming that it doesnt interfere with transpiration of the stomata then youll be alright. Just depends on the inert ingredients of the mixture.

they look somewhat better Ax. still "clawed up." N abundance. i guess you lost some fan leaves. if that purpling doesn't stop......it means trouble. didn't mean to be negative about choppin' em. sometimes its easier, and less heart-rending.

I'm new to the forum but have successfully harvested many plants, but most of us, including myself killed our fair share of plants before getting things dialed in. I hope it turns out for you. Best of luck and keep at it! If nothing else it will give you some practice. Bagseed is a cheap and effective way to get practice and you don't have to worry about losing money due to expensive seeds. I'm along for the ride!

thanks dude , i might have to use it , should i try half strength , it was sitting on a shelf since 1992? The double skull and crossbones is quite intimidating.
