After reading this, thinking about giving it a try. But how are you getting just the single bud? Is it because of no vegging?

it's funny you ask that, i have three kc brasil clones i put in 2 litre bottles, the mother and every pic i have seen of this type show bushy, full characteristics. the 3 i put into the bottle have grown straight up, no bushing whatsoever...i do wonder if it had anything to do with the bottles?

Link in my signature, careful not to go crazy.
I only prune out branches when they're first appearing, never when they've developed leaves.
And don't chop off fan leaves!

these were clones taken from a kc x brasil mother. they have been flowering for 4 weeks. just grew like this, already 8 inch colas on 2 of them and they are maybe 18 inches total.

i'm sorry i wasn't aware i was asking a question LOL i really don't understand what you're sayn bro. root bound at harvet? they are 4 weeks into 12/12 no where near harvest or being root bound. why would the be root bound in what you are saying is a ton of soil for my "tiny plants" they are in premium pro-mix. 3 gallon landscape pots. what do you mean to tap in to all that soil faster? i got no problems. but thanks for whatever is it you are saying i guess. they are nice plants and have blue trichs, maybe because it has been a little chilly lately. lol the 600 digital will be here wednesday.
thanks for the help

Nono, what I'm saying is;
Those clones pictured, if you've run that size pot/clone before, do they become rootbound before harvest and make use of all that dirt?
Was just saying really, that if you could have all 3 gallons full of roots & nutrient exchange, with a little plant like that, it would grow like a monster.

And a good way to do that is a chemical free soil with a symbiotic relationship of Cannabis Roots & Mycohorrizae (Spellcheck?) fungus.
They provide a network of "extension roots" that link up with cannabis roots, and then they feed eachother.
Basically a way to make use of all your soil faster and more efficiently.

But they do look beautiful and lush/green.

gotcha and thanks, i've not run them before. they were full of roots when they were in the 2 litres and thats why i transplanted them. i've heard and read many different schools of thought about roots. i have read where being rootbound makes the plant produce bud better and of course that being rootbound is not healthy for a plant.
i am positive that if allowed to have as much soil and room as it desired this would be a monster. the mother has a stalk the is easily an inch in diameter and 4ft tall at 4 months. from what i have read this kc x brasil is a great outdoor strain, i have a large hedgerow planned for the spring. this is from the breeders webite kc holland brasilxkc.jpg

I believe the rootbound flowering thing is the idea that the plant is at the end of it's life, what better to do than flower.

Any info on his disappearance is very much appreciated
Lol, probably just having some off time, I thought he was a legal grower so not in trouble with the po po...

o_O Think I've learnt a valuable lesson with hydro bottle grows, under no circumstances do 100% Perlite, with such a small root space there's not enough volume for the water mix to 'settle', I'm actually a bit pissed off that I did all but my bubblelicious (which has vermiculite in the mix) are experiencing some wacked out PH crazy nute burn and then complain when they don't get fed... gah all in all I suppose next time use vermiculite 50/50 w/perlite... I'll post some pics later today or in the week!

You could try Coco/Perlite..
If I do Coco I'd have to buy it online (Don't like waiting for stuff to arrive) 'cause no garden centre near me sells anything like that not even the hydro shop round the corner sells it :|

I can just grab a bag of perlite and vermiculite as and when I need it.

No local pet shops carry compressed coconut for pets?

Rediculous, tell the hydro shop to do more research.
No coco haha.

Vermiculite is just medium isn't it? I'm not aware of any benefits from using it other than texture

I might ditch bottle grows, they're annoying me.
I 'm thinking 4" pots.

Might ask em to see if they can get it in, but nope pet shops round here are shite too XD

Vermiculite holds a lot of water it's kinda like soil in its water retention capabilities but made of a woody type material, perlite just makes it drain nicely.

I think I agree with you about bottle grows, they're really fun and perfect for 12/12 from seed but I preferred my ScrOG and big pots gonna run 2 plants in 2 10l hempy buckets next time round, they just require less maintenance than 8 individual ones so they get more attention.

Isn't Vermiculite dust toxic as hell?
MaybeI should research it myself, but that's what I've always been told.

Thanks for the info.

Yea the mini plants just aren't hitting that "vigor" of middle sizers.

I think before its been processed and bagged yeah the dust really can fuck you up but once its out of the bag its fine.

I don't know if its cheaper than coco or anything, its not cheaper than soil though, I just prefer using it.

No-ones posted in here for a while, seems the entire RIU Community is slowly shutting down given the slow trickle of comments etc compared to a year r so ago when it was busy as!

That's Bubblelicious on the left, Exodus Cheese at the back on the right and Blue widow front right.

They look ill but I've kinda half given up on em, just letting them do their thing until I can get my new light and new seeds to start over again.

Any opinions on getting a 400w HPS in a cool tube in this small space? I reckon the cool tube will keep the temps right down? out of experience how effective do any of you guys think a cooltube is?

I've seen a cab smaller than this with a 600w in it, that took air from outside the cab and blew it out the other side basically a sealed'ish room with a duct from 1 side to the other and a hefty light in the middle.
