i often forget where i'm at. i apologize if my demeanor comes off wrong.

when i make tane i get 10 - 20 grams at a time. i forget that some people are working with much smaller amounts. and yes, after a few runs i could see the loss on the filter adding up. there is a little left over here and there.





from what i understand you want the trichs to actually burst open. i would think as fine as screen as possible would allow for the least amount of contaminants. you don't want actually trich heads in your oil. 1 or 2 microns sounds best. i try to use as much resistance as possible, while still allowing the tane to flush thru freely. ;)

i understand that. im just puzzled on why this dudes method comes out better then my methods, its kinda driving me a little crazy. fuck it! fuck it! im doing it with the organza cloth i have. if i see any material fly through, i will double up. this cloth is see through and super thin. i can read a newspaper through it practically. but it still holds the herb in the cylinder. i thought a silk cloth would be way too thick! and i know coffee filters work and are durable, and cheap. i have this cloth here and no coffee filters and have no desire to leave my house today....lol!!

I did a 45 gram bho run and that was the last time i did that took me all day

decided i like doing acouple tubes a day to save my ass the work of having to spend all day in the yard blasting away lol


but yah i could see if your pulling 20 gram runs every time a half gram to gram here and there wouldnt sweat much

I've only done BHO extraction twice now with a small glass extractor that holds 7-10 grams. Well actually I did 2 runs with the same batch of weed. The first run I just stuffed the dry weed in there without breaking it up. This run produced a lighter tan color compared to the next run. After the first run, I took the weed out and then broke it up as fine as possible. That wasn't hard because the butane makes the weed turn to dust anyway. I ended up having to add some more weed to fill the tube all the way up though. This second run produced a darker colored oil, but I still thought it was good. I was happy with the results, but I don't see any hash around these parts at all. No body sells it, so you have to make it yourself if you want to do it. That being said, I don't have much experience with the stuff. I've got some bubble bags that I haven't try using yet. I'm impatiently waiting on my current grow to finish, so I can give it a roll.

I made an extractor out of pvc with a cap on each end. one hole for the butane in one cap and several in the bottom cap. I use an old nylon stocking doubled up or some cheese cloth doubled up. I grind in a coffee/spice grinder and no material comes through. Just another idea.

i love Organica cloth!!! wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better then coffee filter! i made 2 batches. i do it this way all the time. except i really wish i had 3 cans for the first run. but here is my all time method. if it needs correcting, i will amend later. but i got at least 7-9 grams on this run. shit was so good i got offered $60/gram!! and sold 4!!! fuck yeah!!! shit came out amber translucent. i live BHO!!! ok. here is my method:

1. break up herbs by hand leaving kinda of small popcorn chunks. i had started with 48g. only 30 fits in this run.
2. fill glass extractor, lightly packing as i fill.
3. place organza cloth and rubber bank over lip on end.
4. purge 2 cans (or 3 if you have them). into a room temperature Pyrex glass baking dish. i used a 1qt round glass container. i also used a square container in 2nd run.
5. turn hot water in kitchen sink on the hot water letting it run for a few minutes.
6. place Pyrex container in water up about 2.5 inches. and walk away for about 10-15 minutes.

i purge the gas outside with a fan blowing right on me. can't take too many chances with this shit. i for one have blown lots of shit up, and would not want to blow this up! i do a second run with the same product that i used originally in this second method:

1. i then take the remaining 18 grams, and the product from the first run and grind all up in a coffee grinder.
2. i put back in the extractor and purge another 2 cans through a 2nd container of equal size.
3. follow steps 5 and 6 from first run.

this second run comes out a tad bit darker, but honestly not much at all. just seems to burn a little darker, but is still a translucent amber color. and tastes just as pure and clean as the 1st batch. with this method i could have used 1 more can in the 1st run, and possibly could have got back more. i could have even filled my second, plastic, smaller Honey bee extractor and purged the rest of the first batch, but as i said i will amend this method as i go. i may even get the bigger glass extractor. i just didnt have the money when i went to get the one i have. plus they told me it was the "2 oz" version. i do not think it was. i may have been able to get 2 ounce in it had i coffee ground it all on the first run. but that is not my method.

i suggest to everyone. if you have been using coffee filters this whole time and think they are great, then please get an Organza cloth and try it with that. the fibers are spun so evenly and loose it lets every morsel of butane to flow through and keeps every bit of herb in the extractor. even if you coffee grind your extracting product. i have been making this stuff for a long time. and usually only extract an ounce at a time. and have never used good bud before. maybe its the product im using now, but i got back a lot of oil on this batch. even with the amount sold i still have about 3g left. i think i purged a total of about 45g and got about 7-9g of oil. THAT IS GOOD!!! i wish i had a super sensitive scale and perfect containers to market this stuff to my patients with. i filled little viles and someone complained it was hard to get out. i have been practicing whipping it, but it seems that i have to whip it one day, then whip that section the next for it to turn to that "earwax" consistency. i do not know what the hype is with the "earwax' except it slightly makes your oil stash seem larger, lol! and possibly a little more pliable with your fingers. if someone can explain to me the hype of earwax, i would really like to know.

i would love to see what 10-20 grams of oil looks like in a glass Pyrex dish!! i seen an article in High Times where they had a nice 4 quart glass dish and that fucker was more then half way full! the caption had a couple of oil dipped-keif dipped 3 times nug with the dish. shit was making me drool! i couldn't imagine having THAT much oil around. i see what the oil is doing to my bong, i could only imagine how bad its fucking my lungs up. shit is so tasty and clean though. i can't resist!

i just blasted about 43g and got back about 7-9g. maybe more. its hard to tell with glass dishes since when they are made they do not all weigh the same. and i like to keep it in this container for storage cuz i dont mind the space. less mess and trouble. and every time i whip it, it goes brittle and breaks apart on me, so i keep it in the oily amber state. ill upload a pic this afternoon. im debating going and buying 4 more cans and making another batch. people really are digging this stuff!! i only smoke it now. i hardly smoke true herbs anymore while this stuff is around, lmfao!!!!

hahaha! ive noticed... so how much is a case of Vector? im seriously thinking about getting a Tanisum Extractor one day soon. i think it would pay for itself within a few months tops! cases a month? damn man!!! case/S!???!!! how many are in a case? 24? how much is a full case? do you buy online? i used to pay $5.50 a can. that smoke shop closed and now i have to pay $7.50-$8.50. sucks ass!!! especially since i will be making a shitload of oil come the end of the summer. say, is bone dry material better as i have been using? after reading my methods, would you say yours and my methods are roughly the same? seems like we get the same return.

can you please tell me where you buy them at? possibly a local vendor i assume as you mentioned tax and not shipping. i need to find a hook up like that. that is what i used to pay per can. shit, thats actually cheaper!! damn!!

sweet! most of the nonsense got deleted. i found a local vendor to sell me cases for Vector for $60. considering a lot of shops sell Vector for $8.50 a can, i do not think the $5 per can is a bad deal at all. not the best value, but good enough for me. last month i went through 29 cans last month i figure that should last me.

Wax makes your product look wayyy more appealing. Shows you spent time. turns the process into actual cooking. More flavor. Resembles the the dry medicine you started with, captures all of its characteristics in a buttery dab. Why would you not choose wax in the world of medicine? I've never spent more then 40-60 minutes making a 35g batch of wax and I pull 150-200gs a day. Choose the quality of your starting product wisely, only factor that effects the return quality and ability to budder/wax. I can run you the same batch with any filter any tube any butane.
