Hey I am on day 50 or so of flowering and my plants are close to being ready, I think.
What I am concerned about now is what to do to flush these babies.
I just gave them molasses water a day ago, and I know that molasses has potassium and other stuff in it, so I don't know, does this count as part of my flushing, or do I need to give it plain water with nothing at all to really flush the plants?
I want to use molasses as much as possible just to get them as frosty as possible, but I also want the plants to have a smooth taste, not chemicaly.
I also have a clearex flushing solution I was going to use.

im pretty sure molasses acts like a flushing agent, so I would just use Molasses and water to flush, instead of the other stuff. But your call.

Ok one more thing, can I use the clearex/final flush solution as my very final watering or will that make it taste chemicaly too and I should finish with plain water?

Oh and also, does anyone know if leaving them in complete darkess the last two days is the way to go?

right i dnt know that much about growing or flushing as im only on my first crop but iv done countless harvest for different people and at one point made a living from it, i wouldnt leave them in dark for the last 2 days never heard of it , i would leave the plants after the last day of flush until the soil im presuming your not goin hydro, is bone dry , no moisture what so eva so the plants have taken in every little drop of your flush, then just uproot and leave hangin upside down in a dark space which is at about room temperature, then just keep checking them until there how you want, its soo soo simple yet the best way i have ever found, you lose the least weight , lose the least potency and most of all your buds will look fucking superb, good luck mate and if anyone has another way which they believe to be superior please let me know.

There are many websites, and some seedbanks that say putting your plants in complete darkness for the final two days will make them think they are dieing, and push them to pump out all the resin they can. I have found no evidence to back this up, so try it at your own risk.

I doubt it will have a negative effect on your plants, I just dont see it having a positive effect either. Iv heard some seedbanks say the last week in complete darkness... soudns pretty rediuclous.

Has anyone did a side by side test with two clones?

resin does deteriorate from heat and light... resin IS produced in dark times... imma check out that thread that JACK gave...

What does this do for the plant?
as jack said above it causes the plant to pump up its THC production. Im on my first grow since hearing of this so I havent done it myself yet, but quite a number of people say it does work. And dont worry about harming the plant as someone suggested above, you only do it the last days before you chop it anyway

whoever told you that putting the plants in COMPLETE dark the last two days of flowering is right. If you were paying attention to your precious babies you would see that the trichomes are swollen to the fullest first thing in the morning or when you switch from lights OFF to on. light and heat shrink thc and trichomes. more dark less heat creates bigger more swollen trichomes. Its that simple... dont believe me try it. Some plants just have swollen crystals naturally and really arent affected by light cycles but some do so why risk not having the frostiest nugs around!?

no wrong. mallases helps the plant feed off the soil and helps the plant uptake nutes easier. its not a flushing agent.

use the clearex onthe first day u start to flush. then just water and mallases after that till harvest.
and leaving them in the dark is a crock of shit, its a myth an nothin else people think it workls but its more of like the placebo effect. they hear and think so much good about it that when they try they see results only cuz they want to . if thiers no proof to prove this thanits bull shit and no one has proved it yet

you def will want to leave them in complete darkness the last two days
no u dont just harvest the plants when their in the dark u know when ur lights are off instead of on.

wrong. does nature go dark for 2 days i dont think so and if u let your plant finish all the way it should think it is gonna die soon anyway cuz its almost done matureing. u got pics and proof buddy if not its not true and didnt happen. no light means sitting around for 2 days for nothin
