Yeah I saw that too. I actually just left that site before joining here and those 2 guys were one of the reasons. I hate people who gotta hate on anyone with a different method. The main reason I left was the site's ludicrous policy on discussing mmj cards. I think this site is a lot better so far - when I found out subcool was on here I was sold. I just wish shabang were here too (and a lot of the old overgrow gang)

How long you steep your tea? You use a bubbler?

Just want to send a thanks to subcool for his recipe. The only thing I've noticed, in a very minor way is it seems cal-mag is necessary if you're using RO or rain water for some plants, just a heads up. I guess that's pretty common with most grows though. I made a journal with my plants progress. I did add liquid karma and kelp and other additives to help. Some amazing growth so far.

after i added some Tea they really swelled up. out of the NPK i was missing some P-K out of my mix(I didnt use measuring cups when mixing my super soil) So when i added that tea they frosted and swelled up quite a bit

What ingredients did you use in your tea if you dont mind me asking?

Flowering nute tea mix:
2/3 cup Peruvian Seabird Guano
2/3 cup Earth Worm Castings
2/3 cup High P Guano (Indonesian or Jamaican)
5 tsp. Maxicrop 1-0-4 powdered kelp extract
(That makes the "dry mix". You can make all you want and save it to use later.)
Mix with water @ 2 cups of dry mix into 5 gallons of water to make the tea.
To that 5 gallons of tea add:
5 tbs. Liquid Karma
5 tbs. Black Strap Molasses
Use it to water with EVERY watering.

NOT MY MIX but i added my own little twist since i didnt have maxicrop

I was told to only feed with tea every other week.. @ most in between waterings. Though I have also been told to de-foliate my plants @ 1 wk old.

I have been doing the teas for a little while now,... thought I was going heavy, it turns out from looking at ur recipe that my teas were pretty weak!!! every watering heh? do you supplement cal mag as well or they get all they need from feeding teas all the time?

i also use tea with super soil, but mostly just a bennie catalyst.........some root organism, sucanat, guano.....real light though, just to keep my colony happy and humming along......bubble for 16 hours till it foams real good.

I've heard SubCool say that some strains "don't like" his soil. And I believe he says to cut back if that's the case. Just wondering if he know's why? Is it just the plant itself or could it be the ratio of indica to sativa in the genetics? Or is it just that...that some plants just don't like it? Would be good info to know before transplanting. I've got seeds at both ends of the spectrum from a different, semi well known breeder, and will be using Sub's revised mix to a T next grow. Looking for as much info as possible. 8/10 weeks till my first harvest!!.......Thanks for reading.:leaf:

I think that it is more referring to the genetics. A lot of Indicas, for example, don't have heavy feeding requirements (regardless if they are in super soil or not) so they may not like the "hot" super soil as much, and therefor you would cut back the amount you put in the pot next time. When I am unsure, I typically aim on the side of less super soil because you can always top off with additional super soil and I would rather have a plant fade more late into flower to bring out some of the sweeter notes.

I would say any strain that is a light feeder is not going to like Supersoil. Other than the fact that is is a super concentrated nutrient mix, I don't know what there is for a plant not to like about it. As an example, my last run I grew Ketama which is a landrace from Morocco. That plant is a very light feeder and it didn't like even straight roots soil. Supersoil probably would have killed the thing.

My supersoil is on day 22 of sitting >.< ARggg I am getting restless. I have a bush waiting for it.. 10gal cloth airpot
