Ok so this is my 3rd grow, my first was a success my second was a disaster it hermied :(
For this grow im just using a free seed i got its a Ch9 critical mass 33 (sativa/indica) on the pack it said that flowering time was 7/8 weeks. i vegged the plant 4 weeks under a 250 watt cfl using green dream nutes. shes in a 4gal pot in ph 6.5 non fert potting mix using 2 x 250 watt red spectrum cfl very close to canopy, im feeding her biogrow/bloom/topmax. its been 3 weeks since i switched to 12/12 the plant looks extremely healthy all though i did burn some of leaves at the top but just a little. Temps are 78/85 degrees lights on 69/72 lights off.My buds just dont seem to be getting bigger and i dont no why my previous grows have been double maybe triple this size at the same stage.Any advice on what could be goig on?

Weak lights= small buds. Need stronger lighting to get bigger buds.

If im reading his post right he has 500watts for on plant, so stronger lighting is not a must, unless he is talking about the eqv. and not the actual. if its the eqv. then there is about 110 actual watts, which can work, but then you would be correct by saying more light is needed.

Soooo OP are you talking actual watts?

wow thanks for quick replys guys. im not sure what you mean by eqv watt, i paid 40 for each lamp (250 watt cfl grow light) so are you guys saying that its not act a 250 watt?

cfls can be good if you have enough lumen but from the sound of it, they might not be strong enough.

You don't really count the first day of flowering as the first day you flip the lights...it is more like the next week after or sometimes later.

very good info there. looks sativa dominant from the pics so you could have up to a 10 or 12 week flowering period.

I always count flowering from the day the lights change. From what i recall a user emailed some breeders who replied that they base their flowering times on the change to 12/12, not from a certain point of it's maturation.

For only 3 weeks under 12/12, i have to say that those look just fine imo.

Those plants are fine for 3 weeks in.
I agree with Catchin22....your fine at 3 weeks. And I also agree with the whole 12/12 thing that your flowering shouldn't start until you see white pistils not when you switch the lights.....plus...doing this kinda makes you wait a week or two until your plant has matured all the way...lol!

The end of the CFL in the picture looks to be actual 250 watts. $40 would be a good deal. I have a 68 watt (300 equiv) costing $16, 1/4 the output, 1/4 the price.

Two words: Light Penetration. Unless you have CFL's surrounding your entire plant, your going to be missing out on alot of light penetration that HPS/MH/CMH can provide. Your only in the 3rd week. You won't see GOOD bud growth till 5 or 6 weeks into flower.

your plants look really good for three weeks of 12/12 if i where you i would go get a half dozen 23 watt 2700k cfls and surround that sides of that plant with them you will be much happier with the final yield than if you just use two large cfls above it
