Sannies Indica Mix M/F Ratios

Hi all,

This is my first run growing their gear, and the herijuana ibl is not feminized/nor is it offered as such. Unless my eyes deceive me, it appears that 2 of the first 3 are male. The 3rd is much larger and showing no sex.
Since I am unfamiliar with these genetics, can someone please tell me what the average m to f ratio is for un-feminized beans?.

I segregated the 2 in a different room, perhaps I'll try my hand at pollinating. What's surprising me that I'm almost positive heri 3 is f, and 50% larger than the males. In my experience, this is backwards. My males(in-ground outdoors at least)always outgrew their counterpart before showing.

Are IBL's bred this way?.

Just had a male heri today as well, of course it means nothing, but thought it was my fault by referring to him as "Heri/Harry". I had another that damped off due to operator error. A few more left, so will get around to trying again sometime. I have read where someone got 10 out of 10 males (that was here on RIU). Then, I read where someone got 5/5 females (another forum). This is the only strain that I have heard perceived anomalies occurring regarding sex. I have an Extrema that broke ground the same day as the Heri and she is quite a bit bigger than the Heri.... Need to give him the axe this eve... bye Heri!

I moved the 2 males into a separate sealed room, mine as well do some pollen collection. The female has already been cloned, which I had no intention of doing yet...have to play the hand I'm dealt. I have yet to try the anesthesia or the jackberry, and just put their 4 freebie jackberry/KO kush in to germ. If I get more than 2 males, then I'll have something to say about it on their site. I should have ordered more, but I'm always hesitant to do so as a first time customer. I want to grow it first, then decide if I order again. The one heri I have seen grown out here didn't yield a whole lot.

I bet sannies would be the only seed seller to resend you more seeds over male/female ratio,especially on just 1 pack.

Yeah,males tend to grow bigger and faster at first, but its not the rule. In fact a lot of good genetics probably disappear based on height,especially outdoors.

Besides,sannies beans are pretty cheap.I ordered the sativa and indica mix pack. He sent me the indica and femed mix pack. Told me to keep the fem or give it to friends and resent the sativa pack. Its kind of cool because now i got a kf fem and a sugar punch fem, both really tasty. I think if you get a female you will be more then happy.

I do have a female(per pics), and one hell of lady considering the bean was cracked on Dec. 8th. I don't mind paying for beans, just wish I didn't have to waste additional time sexing etc. In the summer it wouldn't matter, but I don't really have room to breed indoors. The males actually grew smaller, and I ditched them...started over with the jackberry/kush freebies.

I have grown out about 5 of Sannies strains and they are what he says they are. I bought these

1 x Anesthesia

was OK, did not keep

1 x Double Koosh

I like this plant and it smells great and the smoke is very good.

1 x jackberry F3
Options: Package: 10 seeds

Day smoke for sure, real mellow looks great and tastes fine, lets you get your shit done.

1 x K.O Kush F3
Options: Package: 20 seeds (+€25.00)

Found another KO hermi today so I just chopped all the KO and tossed them, third one I found. Fuck

Yes now your talking I like this lady lots.

LOL, I'm not a breeder but it does bring up an interesting topic. Can an IBL strain even be feminized without screwing up the genetics?. My guess is probably no b/c it's the only reason I can see as to why they haven't done so.

Good to hear the jackberry came out well, I'm saving those beans 4/summer. If you don't mind me asking, why did you not care for the anesthesia?. That's another one I'm saving.

I think an IBL is what you are looking for, if , you want uniform plants and decide to make some seeds. I don't pay much attention to how fem's are made. Not sure how it would effect Herijuana, since Sannie hasn't fem'ed Heri, it has to be something. BTW, I have smoked Heri and its flatout, knock your d!ck in the dirt smoke, taste isn't much to speak of, but i don't care.

I had the Anesthesia too. A decent producer, it put me to sleep though. I am telling you all, if you get fem freebee seeds, get Mad Shack, it's an amazing plant, guaranteed to please.

I said there are theories about elements. Rooting on too much nitrogen would promote males etc. I have read no scientific papers about it yet so it's just all second and third hand. I did experiment with humic acid (as a seed soak and during veg) and though it did help the even germination and the strength of the seedling I could not discover any significant females advantage

as for the influence of climate, hormones etc. om the sex determination of cannabis there is a great scientific paper. I attached it. As you can see there are many influencing factors in a very early stage which determine male / female. Not an easy read but very recommended!
