What the fuck are you talking about? Why exactly is murder illegal? Or stealing a car? Or assaulting someone? Is it because we collectively "FEEL" it is wrong? Or is there some other criteria you think we have for deeming things illegal?Laws should NOT be written based on personal beliefs. Laws should be written for the protection of every one. Abortion should be legal to all for any reason because WHO THE FUCK AM I to tell another women what to do when I wasn't there and don't even know her? This is about rights for EVERY one, not just people you accept. Laws should reflect logic and reason, not personal opinion, crazy man.
THIS IS EXACTLY why I said in an earlier post, the real issue is when does this fetus become a CITIZEN of a country. These are the only "RIGHTS" a life has. The amazon reference was to illustrate that rights to life are a societal thing, not a natural thing. Which society? Who agreed? By your definition, Marijuana should remain illegal because people are ignorant and "FEEL" it is dangerous. That's what's wrong.
Your suggesting all laws are justified, if the majority of the population "feels" that way. Do we really need to get in to a Law History lesson...ZZZZ....I smoked some Durban poison, so I don't "feel" like arguing...What the fuck are you talking about? Why exactly is murder illegal? If most of the population thought marijuana was actually very dangerous you don't think it's reasonable to outlaw it like they do with other dangerous stuff? The problem would be ignorance and misinformation, not the fact that people acted on it.
Do you think heroin/meth/crack should be illegal, just because most of society "FEELS" that it is dangerous? Do you agree with those laws?
Give me a valid scientific reason why any of the crimes I listed should be illegal without factoring in any emotion or "feeling".Your suggesting all laws are justified, if the majority of the population "feels" that way. You value perception over reason and science, so you fail.
Can you use science to derive law? I didn't think that worked. cnGive me a valid scientific reason why any of the crimes I listed should be illegal without factoring in any emotion or "feeling".
So...how about those Patriots??
That is my point. You can't show a mathematical proof that murder is wrong. You can't demonstrate objectively in a lab that murder is wrong. Murder being wrong is a human construct and is directly tied to the value we place on human life. It is absolutely based on feeling, and I think in the case of murder you can justify saying "it is wrong" and making a law against it.Can you use science to derive law? I didn't think that worked. cn
People would sacrifice completely healthy human beings just in order to "please their god". Cannibalism used to be completely accepted and practiced many years ago. In today's society murder is wrong, no question about it. I did like how you mentioned about how drugs are illegal because most of society feels they are dangerous. The law should not be able to control what we can and can not put in our own body. I think in the past one hundred years societies laws have gone to far. Everything used to be so simple, now everything you do has laws and restrictions, guidelines, It truly does feel like we are owned. That is my point. Guy has his moods. Some of his posts live under a bridge; no argument there. But unlike the folks whose troll duty cycle pushes 100%, his posts actually make me think. And he has responded well and "to point" to some of my questions. So I give his posts the second look. cn
Uncontrolled murder is detrimental to organized societies=FACTGive me a valid scientific reason why any of the crimes I listed should be illegal without factoring in any emotion or "feeling".
Well to answer your questions:Uncontrolled murder is detrimental to organized societies=FACT
Murder is "Wrong"=Opinion
If murder is "Wrong", why has mankind dedicated more energy towards methods of death than any other technology!? Because murder is murder, and only is "wrong" because we are inside the population being targeted. If murder is so "Wrong", why do Americans do it so much? Why don't we imprison our vets for murder? Oh, cuz that's "different". I have to disagree with any claims that laws in this day and time make any sense.
CN, there WAS a society that based laws on science...Who were they again? And how far did they get? And did we adopt any of there ideals?
1) Why did we start using metals? YOU can't comprehend how much of our energy we dedicate to killing. Steel. Probably first employed to build a university. *Cough*Well to answer your questions:
1. Survival. It's a tough world with limited resources. You need the ability to kill to survive. Also I question whether mankind really has dedicated more energy towards methods of deaths than any other technology. Just look around you. Using a computer, on the internet. I bet you drive a car. You use steel, and other metals and alloys. The amount of progress and technology not directly related to killing is staggering. You couldn't possibly comprehend it all.
2. No it's not because I am inside the population being targeted. If you went around shooting animals in the head for no good reason I would consider it wrong.
3. Because vets never kill animals just for the fun of it, they need justifications. The animal is suffering, can longer maintain a good quality of life, or cannot be cared for. If they are murderous for the sake of being murderous we actually do have animal cruelty laws against that.
