First Grow Ever

I keep reading on here about people getting raided and stuff. Why and how do people keep getting raided? Is it the elec bill or people have licenses to grow and they come to check out what u have and bust you with more. All the people saying they get raided is starting to freak me out. I am gonna use a generator during the day mostly to keep elec down.
You void the warrenty on a grow light with a generator. They don't provide consistant electricity, and can kill them.

In regards to the haze, I believe that heat was a major factor in my failure. It was a VERY hot summer, and my AC is on the other side of my flower room, and it was hot over on their side. I think this was the main problem. What I was so suprised about was I grew a bunch of them, as well as all the other strains, and picked the best as mothers, killed all the rest, and grew the best looking ones.

Another admission on this issue was I went on vacation, and had my only trusted person take care of my garden while we were in Disney. When I got back, I discovered that white flies had gotten in the room, and they really went after those plants, almost exclusivly. When I got there, there was a lot of damage, and he was in there two days prior.....so they are very sensitive to bugs. My guy must have brought them in on his cloths, as he works in abandoned homes assessing asbestos prior to their tearing down. He's pretty dirty, and crawling through God knows what. Anyway, with the great advice from my grow store, I killed off the pests in a couple of days, but the damage was done. This was during the second week of the start of flower, so I had no problem using a very fruit and flower sensitive pesticide...worked like a charm.

Anyway, all these things together I believe led to their demise. If I can see a well grown harvest of them, I'd like to give them another try, but not till then.....I'm a caregiver and it's not good wasting medicine.

Thanks for your interest.....grow the shit out of them!!!!!!!

Thank you. I am gonna try. Since its my first grow you can imagine that I am gonna pay a lot of attention to them. Hopefully I will catch any bug or problem minutes after it happens.

Can anyone help me with keeping the humidity up. It won't crack 20%. I put wet towels around the plants to try but it didn't seem to accomplish anything.

Just a thought... the straw will probably make the plant weaker
If i had to guess He has it on there because it already cant hold its self up, I use straws. They work fine for me. If a seedling falls over I split a straw and place it over the stem for a few hours to a day untill it can suport its self on its own again.

They look really good so far, keep up the good work. If i were you id get some kinda air circulation going, like some small low powered computer fans to blow on them to stringthen the stem, also dont over water, if you over water you wont get good root growth and the stem wont get thick enough to suport any good buds. You shouldnt water untill the soil is almost dry, the very top layer may even be compleatly dry

Ya I put the straw on 3 of them because when I woke up that day they were laying down. I have since then removed them and they are holding themselves up. Also I have a moisture meter in one pot. I think it shows in the picture. I don't water until the meter shows a 3. And when I do water I only give each one 1 1/2 cups. Also I have a big oscillating fan aiming down into the room to circulate the air and blow on plants. Thank you for help. I would like to know how to keep humidity up. I can only keep it around 30%. I have tried laying wet towels on the floor but doesn't really help. Any suggestions?

are you pulling fresh air into the grow room from outside or are you just using the fan and blowing in warm air from the house, with central heating it tends to make the air very dry, this is why you are getting humidity probs, if you live somewhere cold use some ducting and get a couple of small computer fans to blow fresh air into your grow area.
your gonna need some inline fans though when you start the 1000w going though cos they get hot hot!, cool tue would be best as already said.
i did not see what soil you were using but it should already have some nutes in it so dont go giving nutes too soon.
with regards to getting usted, keep your mouth shut and watch the smell from the grow and you should be ok.
youve started in the deep end with those plants but good luck, myself i started with skunk 11, took a hammering and still gave a nice yield. great starter plant.

The lights are hooked up to a vent fan and hose to keep cool. Also the central air has been blocked off in that room. Also I have an inline fan on another window and the hose goes into the room right to the back of the big oscillating fan so it blows fresh air over plants. Also I have 2 exhale CO2 bags in the room. So I am doing everything I can. Also you guys are the only ones that know and see pics of my grow. My house is far from any other neighbors so the smell won't be noticed by anyone.

The gauge never shows higher than 30%. Should I strive to get it to 50%? How can I get it up without using a humidifier?

You may want to put a humidifier in your grow room. you can get a small cheep one for less than $20 I have one in my closet grow, I went from 35% RH to about 65% RH.

Sorry i didnt see this post.

Yes you should try to get it around 50% RH. any where between 45% and 65% is good. They will grow with it at 30% but not even near as well as they will at 50%. Humidifier's are pretty cheap.

Ya I think I will have to get one. I have done everything else that was recommended I would hate to ruin the grow because of low humidity. How long should I leave these in 18/6 hour light/dark before I go to 12/12 light/dark?

I am on my way as I am writing this to Walmart to buy a humidifier. I want this first grow to be perfect.
Id let them veg (the stage before flowering) for atleast 4 weeks and no less, but after that you can leave them in veg for as long as you want. Longer veg = more bud spots = more bud.
Let it get atleast 5 nodes before swaping light cycle.

I heard the basically double in height during flowering stage. My room is 8 feet high so I was gonna veg unroll 3 1/2 feet to get 6-7 foot plant. Does that sound good?

This might be a dumb question but do I have to make sure I only use water with a PH of 5.5 in the humidifier too? Or any water will be fine?

No need to ph your humidifier... Evaporated water will almost always be neutral, you would end up with a ph-down crystal garden in your tank..

the ph of the humidifier doesn't matter but you should be using water that has a ph between 6-6.8 5.5 is for hydro
