So today was my 3rd BHO run and i cant get any wax. Ive done plenty of researches but it seems like no one has had my exact problem yet. I have a 10" extractor tube thats made from stainless steel (i got parts from home depot) and i can fit about between 15-20 g'z into it, every time i shoot tane through it it comes out a really yummy yellowish kinda color but after it evaporates thats just it no movement no bubbles to pop just oil stuck to my pyrex im switching out hot water just under boiling but still nothing...i bring it in my house(of course once the butane has evaporated) on my electric stove set to simmer and still nothing, after awhile it seems like the oil is just burning off with still no bubbles to pop and bring to a wax. Its super frustrating but im not a quitter is there anyone that can give me insight or has had my same experiences and recuperated?Oh and by the way im using some okay trim it has popcorn nugs and is pretty decent i mean not the best but still a indoor kush grow that i got from a buddy of mine i have at least a lb of that and also the buds that came from that which i haven't used yet just so i can make sure there bone dry. With the same trim I've made bubble hash and i got a nice yield and it tasted superb with a strong high Ive seen people use roaches/streebo etc. so it cant be the bud. yea i posted on grasscity because i needed fast responses but it still didnt really help i did another run and it was another fail.....failing sucks man.
that might help me a little i hear if its loosely packed it wont work or if its too tight it wont work....so i just figured go in the middle lol, but thank you sutra ill try that today.

i have been making BHO for over 5 years. going on 7. i have made small batches. never nothing more then 28-45g. i always get about 5-8g of oil. i will give you a quick break down. first all, get rid of that cheap metal extractor and find a glass one on eBay. that may be your first problem. if your vessel is too thick, it wont work. you need a slightly skinny, not to fat tube. glass preferred. ok. here is the basic break down:
1. chunk your bud up. dont grind it up to much. some use a coffee grinder. i only use one on the 2nd run.
2. gently fill vessel. dont over pack it.
3. i only use Vector gas. its a lot more money. but well worth the money. blast the herbs inside vessel.
4. i use a glass Pyrex dish. 1 quart size. some blast in a warm container. i dont see the need. and since i use 2-3 cans. it gives me more time to blast.
5. after blasting 2-3 cans through vessel i take glass container and place in sink. fill the surrounding area of the Pyrex dish with hot water. fill up about 1/4 above the level of the butane.
6. after about 5-10 minuted the butane evaporates and the oil bubbles.
7. BAM!!! you now have BHO!!!!
i do this process outside with a fan pointed directly on me. i don't take any chances. if you have any other questions just ask!! my oil also comes out golden amber translucent.

Yo oHsiN, whats your second run product look like? I've always disposed of the material I run with bho...is it really worth a second run? Wouldn't the majority of non-polar compounds be extracted in the first run?
To OP, you need to pack tighter or the material you are using isn't very frosty. One or the other. Either that or the place you insert your butane is leaking butane out not allowing enough pressure to build up.
oHsiN summed it up pretty well. But sort of left out the biggest step. You don't have BHO once the butane evaporates. You must fully purge it using whichever method works best for you. Then you have some smokable product. (Sorry if this isn't what you meant) But it just seems like if I followed your steps I would end up with a sticky oil still containing butane ya no? Got to add heat at some point.

thanks for the input bro....an older friend of my pops has been doing waxes for years and he has the same extractor that i do but a foot and his wax comes out amazing, and also the extractor that I'm using is stainless steel i mean atleast it is compact metal and more pure than regular metal, a lot of people say only use vector but ive seen people on youtube do it 3x's refined which is still no where near 5x and their shit bubbles up i mean i know vector is the best i just cant find it in my town and I'm kind of too anxious to order it off of ebay lol....I'm new to this so all advice helps but the strategy ill try today is pack it like sutra said and also not use that trim if you can see in the pic its not too great and go with the buds if i get horrible results once again then forsure its my tube and or the tane.Ill post pics for you guys.... man 5th times a charm hopefully today.
yea washed i think so too maybe the trim just isnt really frosty enuff and i thought at first it was my extractor hole but i brought my wife out to help me make sure nothing was leaking and it was copacetic no leaks so im guessing its the weak trim too....i still havent did a run yet but im about too..but ill be using the bud from that trim do u know if the buds have to be bone bone dry in order for me to extract it?

The wetter they are the worse the yeilds, IMO.
Also, get vector. Don't go buying low quality stuff my man. That stuff is littered with shit you don't even know about. Stick with what has been tried and true, Vector contains a mixture of n-butane and iso-butane with around 11% propane. Power contains the same with about 20% propane. Order it online...you're not going to be black listed.
