Jamaican Weed

I mean im all down with keep original genetics, but im down with cross breading and fuckin a ton of shit all together, why not, its just a plant, interesting to see the different characteristics.

I mean fuck if i had enough space that i could grow fields of herb i would have no problem with the yield being big or small, but when confined to a small area i think yield is def something to take into consideration, seedbanks just made a smart buisness move thats all, its not like they force you to pic that strain.

I def see where your coming from though, in some aspects if something's fine the way it is then why change it, but personally i just think its way interesting it see the difference in the characteristics.

Dude I hear you. I am all for breeding, cross breeding, back crossing (and eventually Inbred Lines).

The problem is (in my honest opinion), we only honestly see indica-hybrids, or indicas. It is extremely rare to see strains that take 100+ days to flower anymore, hence eliminating many of the desired traits of "old school" weed. The older colombian hazes, colombian gold, panama red, etc. take time to grow (as they are true Sativa genetics).

was in jamaica 2 years ago, loved it.only in the hotel 5 mins and i got a big bag of weed for $80 u.s. bout an ounce.had seeds in it but it was strong smoke, my woman had to keep checking to see if i was breathing when i was asleep for the first couple of nights. the stuff just put me out cold. i brought the seeds home and grew them indoors but it just wasn't the same.

My parents were there in March for the band Little Feats get away. Dad brought back a joint and some awesome pics, as well as the seeds that are growing in my journal now. The pics he had were sativa looking buds, and the joint was a sativa high, but these plants look mainly indica. One phenotype I noticed is extremely tall, an easy 8 inches above the rest, but only 3 females have hit that, the rest are shorter and bushier. Alas, I'm stuck growing under fluoro tubes the whole way, so I cant truly see how they do till my next go round.

I forgot to mention. When my parents got to the resort, the bellhop showed them to their room, and asked if they needed anything. Dad asked for smoke, got offers for smoke and dope. Wound up getting about 2oz for 100us, and it was delivered to the room before the fucking luggage even arrived. On point, on call service.

My wife and I spent a week there last year, the one thing you hear the most is "no problem mon!" and the weed there is great, my wife is the reason I quit 3 years ago and Jamaica is the reason we both smoke now :D Gotta love Jamaica

The funny thing is Jamaicans know how good San Diego weed is too, lol, some Jamaicans, a couple from Pennsylvania and a couple from Ohio both told us they "hear San Diego has good weed"

Yes, yes we do:blsmoke:

great weed, me my grower and 2 of my best friends went there for 3 months, we smoked weed every single day and cost us nothing. we gave the people in some mountains 1 of my growers 1st strains, it was a super silver have crossed with blueberry then crossed with purple haze and dutch haze then stabilizied, but the weed was great and they did us good prices coz 1 of my friends that i was with was a jamaican, the best place was the mountains, we got some REAL lambsbread and another brilliant sativa, also a sweet tasting indica dom, my grower has been back there twice and each time came back with some brilliant genetics for his breeding projects.

I actually get quite a bit of jamaican weed here, the first ounce I bought was some nice Jamaican Bud and it was sick, well until I was smoking all these guys out then got jacked three quarters of the ounce, haha but I figure since it's good luck to give your first harvest away same goes for first ounce haha

u in UK, we get alot of jamaican weed too, its compressed and loses some taste coz of the time taken to get it here, its still very nice weed, not the strongest but definetly 1 of the most enjoyable if u get what i mean.

I got a few seeds from a buddy that said he got them from his cousin who took a trip to Jamaica and brought back some seeds that he got in a bag of weed. He called them Jamaican gold. I was not to sure if that was just simply a made up name given to some seeds from Jamaica, or an actual specific strain. It was very sativa like, very big plant, one female reached eight feet. The bud was not the best, producing just a simple head high. Big yield though.

You literally couldn't be more wrong...
Yes they probably have grown indica strains or indica hybrids in Jamaica. The climate is best suited for sativa though, indicas have lots of problems in tropical climates. Sativas are designed for tropical weather like Jamaica. Also having a very long growing season, Sativa plants can reach ridiculous sizes. Its not unheard of to have a 15 foot sativa plant growing in Jamaica.

I happen to know a lot about Jamaica. In the past 25 years, indica and indica hybrids have taken over the island because they yield a quicker crop and stay short. There are still some rastas in the mountains who keep their sativa lines alive, but for most it's Dutch hybrids.

My point is that you shouldn't talk like you're an authority on the topic when you're completely guessing.

I dont know man, all the grows and plants I see from Jamaica are sativa or very sativa dominant hybrids. All the strains coming out of Jamaica are very sativa also. Like you said there probably are people growing indica in Jamaica for quick crop and staying short, I know If I was there I would be growing the monster sativa's that thrive in that climate. lol just because I disagree with you does not mean I'm an "authority on the topic", it just means I have a different opinion. :bigjoint:
