Hi i am doing an indoor grow of blue mystic, I germed for about 2 days using the plate and paper towel. I then put the seedling into 100% FFOF soil in a peat pot. I used 100% because im waiting on a bag of Light warrior in the mail and then i will mix the two 50/50. I watered the soil and peat pot with water around 6.3 PH before i put the seedling tail into the soil. After i planted it The seedling seems to just be falling over and doesnt seem to be growing. I have 4 45W 5500k (i believe) CFL lights running in a 2x4x7 Grow tent in my closet. Here are some pics, is my plant dead? am i doing something wrong? Did i kill it using 100% FFOF by the soil being too strong?

The temps in my grow tent are about 75-81F and the humidity is around 30-45% maybe. please help

This is only one day after i placed the germinated seedling in soil

yes, yes, and yes. throw it in peatNperlite next time. no nutes. seedlings bring their lunch with them.

too hot for seedlings, IMO. and each geno is different. my cousin Alfredo sprayed 3 moms with rosemary oil, for mites. 2 geno's shrugged it off. one turned yellow, and screamed, "i'm meltinnnnnnng." less is more.

Need to do more reading man. FFOF is *NOT NOT NOT* meant for seedlings. It is too rich.

Second FFOF needs a lot of perlite added. You shouldn't be putting plants in FFOF until about 3-4 weeks old when they've got a few sets of real leaves. If you do use FFOF during veg if you don't add perlite you got a pretty good risk of getting root rot (happened to me my first bag of it).

Agree with scroglodyte. If you want to provide your seedlings a little extra nutrition, wormcastings (<1 n-p-k) in the mix will provide all the nutrition they need without burning

Ive read tons of reading, I have 2 books, and have read nearly everything on the fourms...I'm waiting on my Light Warrior soil in the mail. I had already received my FFOF soil. Some people say they have successfully started seeds in FFOF. So while waiting on my light warrior soil to come i decided to test one plant out, so i only germinated and planted one and now i see the results. I WAS NOT trying to add any extra nutrients, I was watering with plain PHed tap water and just wanted to see if it could sustain life in FFOF soil from seedling since i dont have my other soil yet. Thanks tho guys. I guess ill wait on my Light warrior in a day or 2 before germinating any more of my seeds.

Also I dont have my trio of nutrients yet. Im planning on going with the fox farm trio (grow big, tiger, big bloom). I should get them within a week maybe. I was wondering with light warrior do i need any nutrients if i use 100% light warrior from seedling? since FFOF is to hot i was gonna go with a 50/50 mix of FFOF and LW and maybe some added perlite, but i was wondering if i used 100% light warrior since it has about nothing in it could i just used plain PHed water with it, or would i need a small dose of nutes? Suggestions anyone

how long has it been in the dirt? it doesn't look dead to me man. why don't you set it a side and plant another, and maybe have two

even if it is "saved"......it will be stunted, with persistent problems. to end up producing nil.

its has been in the dirt for a day under a 24 hrs light cycle

but do you guys think i should start with 100% light warrior and no nutes, or do a mix of light warrior and ocean forest?

if it can be saved i would probably wanna do so. Maybe i should try flushing the soil on this one

Hey bro, looks like in picture 1 the tap at ground level is already browning, do I here taps playing...lol

You could still save her if you want, pull out the seedling rinse it with room temp distilled ph'd water and replant in nutrient free soil with a humidity dome
......or just get another bean.....peace

has the plant seedling totally slumped? If not may not have been dead yet, FFOF is still too rich for the seedling but it has been succesful in rare cases. Just give a shot at what Enzo said.
:peace:

it was just an experiment anyways, no harm in losing one seed, id rather be safe than sorry. Now i know from hands on experience and i am learning. Thanks

I think i answered this Q last week. I said then they are fucked due to poor quality seeds, now im even more convinced.

idk what everyone is talking about but,ive been using FFOF for everything,i use perlite and also i am using vermiculite now to.

ive put a seedling straight into FFOF with no problems, still alive and green.

i put clones,once rooted.straight into FFoF/perlite.

ive even put clones that havent rooted into FFoF and all came out fine.

yeah after 2 days the seedling stayed the same shape and size so i tossed it, pretty sure its dead. But on the bright side my light warrior arrived. I had a seed of white widow germinating and i just planted it into 100% light warrior with nothing else added so we will see how it works out. I also have 3 more seeds germinating right now and i will place 1 blue mystic into a 50/50 mix of FFOF and light warrior and see if it survives.

please keep us updated on how that 50/50 mix seeding goes. i also planned on doing this but i have to wait a month till i move to my grow area (hate waiting lol)
