I would assume the possible only effect would be extending the drying process, and t mac, you could be right. But there is no other way of finding out then doing it. If every one just went along with what other people have said then were would be? ” having an imagination is better then education” I believe alber eninstien said that one. Could have it a little mixed up and wrong tho so dont quote me!

I think it would start your cure before drying. Without roots and with the stem submerged in water, oxygen will be unavailable for normal respiration so anaerobic respiration will take place, breaking down starches and giving a really smooth smoke. It's nothing to do with "nutrients".

Columbians did similar to it in the past, except by tightly wrapping a metal wire around the base of the stem, this is what gave them their "golden" strains.

Hope this helps.

I didn't read this entire thread, just the first page...

On another forum i'm on one of the mods preaches about this technique and calls if an "emergency flush", they swear it works wonders in a day or so in a bubble bucket. I personally don't really believe in flushing unless you over feed your plants in the first places so i've never tried it. Its nothing new though...

thanks sutra. i was sure someone had thought of it, but couldn't find anything. nothing new under the sun.....lol. i'm working on a cannabis kiln, to cure, with precision, in a drastically reduced time. hops, cousin of cannabis, is kilned to perfection in a short time.

That has also been done, well not the curing kiln part ( unnecessary imo) but a algorithm was made. Humidity % measurement on a proper cure.

cool. i'm very interested in taking the jar-burping, bud re-piling, mixed results, out of the commercial grows. and a better smoke, too. i'm not commercial, Big Brother......lol.

i was just about to go and lift my heavy ass pot and lug it 3 flights of stairs to start flushing the old fashioned way but i think i might just try this instead, i once uprooted a male from my grow and stuck him in a bucket with water and hydroton, and he showed no ill effects until 2 weeks later, so don't see why this wouldn't work. I am concerned about sending it into shock by cutting it at the base and changeing it's prime directive. so I'll just uproot her and put her in bucket of water with an airstone for a few days and see what happens.
she has apprximately 1 week left, just wondering if I should leave her on 12/12 for 3 and then total darkness for the rest?
