Magic Square

Okay this just fucks me up—

This is an ancient palindrome: Sator arepo tenet opera rotas found inscribed on a wall in Pompeii

S A T O R
A R E P O
T E N E T
O P E R A
R O T A S

Read it in a line or put it in a square and it reads the same backward and forward, bottom to top, left to right, up and down—it is always the same. It roughly translates to-- “The Divine Operates the Wheels of the Universe” AND if you read the outside words in rotation backward or forward it says “the Divine Wheel”

Is it just me? Or is that weird . . .or what?

Thank you Kuroi :) I find it quite fascinating and I can't think of anything more clever to say than that because everything else I want to say about it would take me a really long time to write and my cat's ass is in my face :P

Because, Johnny, when you leave openings like that it's so hard for me to resist taking them. And then I look mean. And I don't like to look mean. You know I answered you, then stared at it for a minute, deleted what I had written, and then wrote "too soon". To me, that takes a lot of energy. So you're creating an unneccessary workload for me.

I remember this from latin class, it's called a sator square. They are also supposed to be the names of the nails that they used in the crucifixion of Christ. Yep, Catholics went so far as to individually name each nail.
