Ok guy's this is my first indoor grow.Everything has been a success so far,i changed my MH bulb out, and installed a HPS bulb, and put the plants into a 12/12 cycle 3 days ago to start the flowering stage.Question is when will or how will i know they are starting to flower? This may be a dumb question but i have to ask.

your at day 3 of 12/12. if theres no pistils yet, then i wouldnt even consider it day 3 of flowering, more like day 3 of sexing. once you see pistils/balls, i consider that to be day 1 of flowering. add 60-90 days... harvest.
some plants will show gender during vegetation, meaning they are ready for flowering, if that happens, switch the lights, and after about a week of transitioning, they start to 'bloom', with first buds visible another week later.

currently, mine showed pistils before the bloom, i changed them to 12/12 about 2 weeks ago, and im starting to see buds (really its just a lot of white hairs). they will look like balls of nothing but white hairs for a little while, then they fill in with green, then grow and grow, and swell, then darken... swell some more, the plant looks like its gonna die (the fan leaves wilt, etc...) then around that time, its close to harvest.

sit back and wait

Give her time. 3 days you not going to see much of anything. My grows show in about 7 to 10 days.

Wait another week or 2 and it will show its sex and the next few weeks it will start growing the buds

The TGA Genetics breeding master disagrees:

I am not sure why people dont get thisflowering starts the day the lights go 12/12 not on some observational guess on the growers part :)

After about 7 days you will notice that the branches growing off the main stem are alternating or offset.
Prior to flowering the fan leaves grow in sets directly across from each other on the main stem. When flowering starts
the leaves start growing offset.
