Topping my plant...

This is my first grow so any advise would be appreciated...

I topped it at about a month old or so, It's doing well, but should I top it again?
It has 4 top looking branches... about 12" above the origonal place where I topped it.
If I should top again... do I do ALL 4 of them? or what...?

Oh, its about a 6 weeks now...

well honestly I'm not shooting for super massive yeild, I mean, yea, the more the merrier but, this is more of a learning venture...
Like... how bad would it hurt to take like... 1?
Just thinking to see what happens...

Is it generally standard and proven that topping once = 4 colas = best?
or what...?

When are you supposed to start topping a plant? and is it to stop its growth in height once topped? or just produce more bud? or both?

Topping does a little of both, deza. It produced more nodes though. If you read Uncle Ben's thread, it describes how to top to get more than one main cola (the bigass cola usually in the middle, hence main cola) and whichever node you top at determines how many main colas you will get. It's a hormonal reaction. I recommend topping at the 2nd node, and only topping your plant once. That way you get 4 main colas, plus all your side colas, which honestly is enough. Some people have topped to get 16+ main colas, but at that point, the colas are too small to really be considered a main cola.

Do you know any youtube videos to reccommend me? i would like to top my plants to increase yield.. have no idea how to top plants etc.. so videos are easier for me to learn with..

and can i have the link to the thread you mention?

No need for a video, you literally just cut the plant right above the second node. Read this thread and all shall become clear...

i normally top at the second node and veg it for about another month before flowering it. i usually cut about mid point between the 2nd and 3rd nodes so as the branches grow they dont grow out passed the cut and become weak and need to be tied up. and i dont top more than once.
