Yes its ok,i run one for mine & keep the level at 40% but i'll be trying to lower the humidity level to 20% or less.

kool,thanks for replies
No matter what anybody says the lower the humidity level in your drying area the less chance of bud rott,i'd rather take the chance on loosing 1 or 2% of the overall quality over getting bud rott anyday.

Nothings worse than going to take a peek at your shit hanging up & seeing that dreaded shit, fukin mold it should be outlawed.

Thats what i thought too, everywhere i looked they wanted like $200 each,i started looking everyday online at places like ABC Warehouse,Best Buy,Circuit City & such,i ended up finding a close out model at Circut City for dirt cheap,i bought 3 of them, they are 35 pint models with adjustable controls & i paid $69 each,i only needed 2 but at that kinda price i scooped up the last one they had.

i dont water for a week befor i harvest, it helps on the mosture in the buds, just make sure when u hang your bud it has pleanty of fresh air , a dark room, a closet with the door cracked, any where that u can have controle on how much fresh air your bud receves, and use the extra $ on something u really need, like more lights or fans, more seeds etc, i see so many post where people are spending all this unessary $ on shit they could do with out

A closet with a large harvest hanging & no humidity control can quickly turn into a humid mess,if you haven't experienced bud rott yet be thankfull,it can hit overnight,IMO $70 is a very small price to pay to assure no problems with mold & no chance of an entire harvest having to be made into hash or thrown away.

I'd buy a dehumidifier & use bagseeds any day over seedbank seeds & no humidity control.

A dehumidifier will not effect anything accept to shorten drying time & lesson the chance of getting bud rott, both are good things.

Our dehumidifier was originally bought because our unfinished basement is damp. The house is old, and the foundation leaks a little when it rains. The dehumidifier is awesome for getting rid of allergens in the house.

Anyhow, ours wasn't near that expensive. We bought it at Target for like $40 two years ago. The thing is HUGE, and it works wonders.
