Buds touching the walls

I've got my grow room completely packed with plants and alot of budsites and fan leaves are pressed right up against the wall. Is this a garanteed recipe for mold?

I don't want to have to remove all those budsites if I don't have to, but I'm starting to think if I don't I'm going to ruin my whole crop with mold. Just flipped to 12/12 3 days ago

i would paint that conc. wall with mold resistant white paint to ease worry but i would think as long as the wall is clean and you have good circulation you should be fine.

i've only got a tiny ass closet that i grow in, maybe 2.5 x 3 feet, and it's pretty much crammed with plants for every grow, so it's safe to say that i've always got a few buds pressed up against a wall here and there, lol..
but saying this, my grow spot is wooden and not made of brick, so not sure how that will play out for you...

instead of worrying about it, why don't you simply try and supercrop any of the bud sites that are against the wall.. super easy to do and works wonders imo.. simply take the stem of the offending bud, and gently squeeze and slightly twist it in between your thumb and fore finger, this will break the stem's outer walls enough to make the stem so that it will now not want to stand up on it's own, and instead fall over at like a 90 degree angle or so.. in a few days, the bud will start to grow upwards towards the light again while the branch is still bent over..
or you could also do some lst, simply tie some string or w/e around the stem that any of the bud sites you want to move are on, and simply find something to tie the other end of the string on so that it simply pulls the bud off of the walls..
both methods work great ime, although the lst would probably be the better route as it puts less stress on the plants,and gives you many more options..

I originally painted the concrete with a layer of flat white paint, but I didn't have any fungicide paint or I would have used that(can you get that easy?)
I just went ahead and removed all of the budsites and fan leaves that were making contact with the wall(I left some fan leaves if they were only slightly touching). I now have a heap the size of a basketball of branches and fan leaves that I removed! I don't know if my yield will be affected or not as most of the budsites were out of the light mostly anyways, and It definately looks alot nicer in there. It looked stuffed before. I feel like my plants can breath now
I don't know if it was needed, but I did it anyways
Thanks for the replys, I think I will expand my grow space next time around

omg, not trying to be evil or anything here, but man, you never should have removed all of those bud sites and fan leaves, that's just craziness imo..
and of course your yield is going to be affected as a result of cutting off all of those bud sites, as well, they were sites that buds would have grown out of, and by removing them, you've now removed any potential buds that may have grown there..
and it's ok to remove a few leaves here and there, i mostly just try and remove any leaves that are already dead and or in the process of dying... leafs are the solar panels of the plant that hang out in the plant, which take light energy and convert it into sugars and food for the plants to use..

Don't worry I got plenty of budsites to spare

I wanted to remove any possible popcorn buds and focus more on the big colas. I see what I did as a variation of lollipopping

It's still gunna be packed in there, and I didn't want to risk a mold disaster. I'm just trying to play it safe

Play it safe this time; go full bore the next time.
What I would do is place a vapor barrier between plants and wall, like reflectorized Mylar or Orca film. That way if you get bugs or rot or some other grow no-no, you don't have to worry about pathogens staying in the concrete or paint. Jmo. cn

My next grow I won't stuff my plants into a claustrophobic closet and instead I will expand into the 10x30 room. I will only use a fraction of that but the extra space will make life alot easier, and I will never have to worry about buds touching a wall again
For now I will just have to make it work in the cramped space. I'll probably get some more fans, I'm thinking multiple small ones would be better than one massive fan that knocks my plants over
