Hey moma, thanks for stoppin by. Yea it is taking me a little while to get all the stuff. I made my first order on the 3rd of february. I should have my last shipment in, by friday of next week. But that is just a tarp and another book. All my base and additives I will have by tuesday! Got another shipment in today. It was my kelp meal. Kinda frustrated with it, I bought a certain brand. The seller repacked it in a bag instead of the original box. Then they didnt include the nutrient values, the switched it to amounts of protiens and stuff like that. Thinkin I was gonna eat that shit... I dont think I would make a kelp smoothie any time soon. Lols but other than that, all is well. Plan to start mixing my soil next weekend. It is still pretty cold over on the eastern side. But I figure I can find some ways to work around that. Hope all is well, Happy growing and smokin!

A kelp smoothie...yukk!! I don't have the same diet as my plants for sure, fish meal, worm castings, bat poop....lol

Yeah, Me to. I'm super excited for this summer. It is going to be so so so much better than last summer. Hopefully after my indoor harvest I will have a camera.. Who knows I might break down and get a cheapo just to last till I can get a nicer one. I want to be able to show off my gurls!!

Hey everybody, Another update here. Well over the weekend and today I got these items:
Kellogs 3.0 cuft bales of soil x5
Kellogs 3.0 cuft bales of compost x2
Steer manure compost 1.0 cuft x2
Blood meal
Bone meal
Perlite 2.0 cuft
Vermiculite 2.0 cuft
I will be getting my gypsum tomorrow sometime when the ups guy arrives at my house. I will be mixing this soil recipe up this weekend. I will take pictures but it will just be with a cell phone, So they are probably gonna suck. Hope all is well with everybody, as everything has been great with me! Happy smokin and growin!

well, turns out we will be here in portland for another year, so it's time to start building the greenhouse again. i think i will wait until april to put it together because i want to till the soil this year instead of leaving the grass there.
soil mix will be a nice mix of ocean forest, roots organic, compost, perlite, and peat moss (same as last year).
hoping to get the plants in the ground by may 15th, about 35 days earlier than last year. this year i will make sure to spray throughout the veg period for budworms. i was unaware of that little surprise and lost about a QP due to those nasty fuckers.
my final improvement (besides more exhaust and circulating fans) is a drip system instead of hand watering.
totally ready for it mentally, financially not so much. setting up gets expensive.

i am going to put some auto flowers out this year. i live just across the Tacoma bridge in the sticks. going to go for a gorilla but haven't decided all the strains. would take any input something that is resilient to mold and grows good with low light and wet climate.

Bugs suck in general. Last year for my outdoor, I was fighting fuckin grass hoppers. Man those fuckers can do some devestating shit to the leaves and the stems. Kinda easy to catch them once they land on the plant though. They get all sedated and drunk acting. Then I catch them and feed them to my bearded dragon. Serves the bastards right for hurting my ladies. That shit is punishable by Death!!! Lols thanks for stopping by man.
Man thats cool though. I love portland I lived down their for a couple years. It is deffinently one of my favorite big city's. Yea I know what you mean about the costs of setting up. This year between my indoor and my outdoor stuff I have spent around 1200-1500 So far. Hoping that is all Im going to need, as I'll be shutting down the indoor here within the next couple months.

Well Im not to sure about strains buddy. Good to see somebody attempting a outdoor on the coast. Its gonna be a rough one for you, So good luck. I would deffinently look into something that is more indica, as it usually will finish faster. Thanks for stopping by man!

Awesome thread man. Is it possible to grow out on the penninsula, closer to the sound? Or do people pretty much just stick to the east side of the hills? I suppose west side of the hills could work but since the weather drains all the water before climbing up, maybe its too wet? All super interesting, dont think its gonna happen for me this year though. Not prepared but its always good to plan ahead! And I liked your soil recipe, very well thought out. Are you not planning on feeding much? Cant wait to hear how it goes.

Hey man I would assume it is possible if you had a green house and good circulation. I have not tryed to grow on the west side. But I hear from everybody that does that they have a bad mold problem cause of the humidity and moisture. But nothing is impossible if you have the right equipment. All the power to you if you do man!
Yea man its grasshoppers galore, over on the east side. I dont have to buy my bearded dragon any food in the summers. Its kinda nice even though crickets and salad is cheap! I think medicated grasshoppers are better for him any ways.

Yea I would almost say so. I mean you might be able to do some indicas or some autos out their. That would be kinda sweet a guerilla grow of autos! Lols and thanks about the soil recipe. Yea I thought this one out but based the bottom mix off of Dirttyd's, just added a few things. I dont want to feed at all this summer, Hopefully just water or possibly a couple teas. Ok I have been doing some thinking. Do you guys think that it would be bennificial or hurt the garden. To use water straight from banks lake, instead of my tap? JW I have pretty close access to it so it wouldnt be hard to go fill up like 50 gallons worth. Let me know what you guys think. Just worried about the chlorine, in my water. I also figure that the lake is a ecosystem in itself. I mean fish, plants, live and dead decay.. Just thinkin so I guess let me know what you guys think!

I cant imagine keeping it natural would do any harm. Probably safer water unless you have a well or something. Test ph, etc, you know the deal and thats probably better water.

you can fill up 50 gallon buckets from your tap and let them sit for a day or two, and the chlorine will all evaporate. you can even put an air pump in there to mix up a batch of nutes or tea as well.
you could start collecting rainwater now, too. kinda pricey to do that right it seems.
watering/feeding is one of the most important elements in a successful grow, so i'd say that it is worth some real consideration and i am going to start considering it more as well. thanks for the reminder.

Well the reason Im thinking about it, Is the fact of chlorine or chloramine. People say that if the water is a bluish color in a white 5 gall bucket it is chlorine. I have seen that if it is a greenish color it is chloramine. I heard that the chloramine will not evaporate out.. So Im trying to consider my other options. Lols I have checked a banks lake fishery evaluation. They are spossed to be annual but they stopped being so detailed in 2002-2003. It says PH,TDS,DO,TEMPS,Turb,SpCond,Depth, and where they tested from. It is pretty detailed for that year.

But you bring up a good point, about the rain water. As it isnt spring yet so I have pleanty of time to collect that! I dont know it is all thought. Im just trying to be as succesfull as I can be! Which with the right planning can be 100%.
