Is there a point to autoflowers, or are they just for people who can't set a timer?

in theory it could allow two crops in one season... plant outside twice in a season... I assumed the technology came from the food industry, yielding two crops in one season could be an incredible achievement if it were applicable to other mass produced crops... I'm sure the farmers that could double their harvests would be interested.
Actually, with autos you can have UNLIMITED numbers of crops in a season.

You can literally plant new seeds outdoors every week, then have a new harvest every week starting 7-8 weeks later. This can't be done with regular plants outside, and this is one of the biggest advantages of autoflowers.

you can harvest twice as fast as photos,if you take time into consideration you actually yield about the same if not more that a photo period plant.I started growing them because of size limits.everybody that grows them has their reasons im sure.

I do agree with the indoor growing of auto's. i got the 7 dwarfs, and a couple flash autos last year. a local friend who i kinda compete with on growing got the dwarfs and a few others. he does indoor mine were outside. i was completely embarrassed with my outcome. buds were not compact, yields were so low i'm not even gonna discuss them. i used 5 gal buckets, the other guy used 2 gal. his harvest was around 2oz per plant. he was around 2 weeks faster and looked like miniature photos. mine looked like crap and had a very low odor. I believe there is a lot lower chance of mold on a faster growing plant. also a power outage wont affect the indoor grower if using autos. obviously smaller containers so they can be grown in a more compact room. and the way they force photos indoor you can get the same yields from an auto but twice as fast. i'm a believer in the autos, although they really need to work on the quality of these strains, which i'm sure in a few years they will be equal to a photo and winning competitions. but for now we got to deal with the lower thc levels.
