mates just gonna start his own tent grow ! need some advice here buddies if you can help ! 2x2x2 tent 4 pot wilma kit with the gr8 uk cheese cuttings under each 600w lamp so for 4 lamps for 4 wilma kits 16 cuttings ! what would you expect to yield for each 4 plants, ive heard the general rule is one watt per gramm is this true ? and he is gonna use clay pebbles on the constant drip is this an ideal media and will it affect the yield if its all clay pebbles in the pots !! thanks and kind living to all my new found ganja :hump:tweakers
1gpw is if you already know what your doing and have been making improvements each grow, very few people hit a GPW their first grow. Sounds pretty good. Most important thing is ensure you have 100% climate control(that includes CO2 if you can afford it) and buy nutrients with the right ratios of NPK. Not neccessarily the most expensive nutrients just the right ones. Then you should be on the path to 1GPW

Yea I think the clay pellet should get you to a GPW, not reason it wouldn't, Lot's of air reaching the roots.
I think I forgot the #1 factor which is good genetics. Sounds like you got that covered though. There was a post by simon that I agree with. He was saying "Genetics, genetics, genetics", to get good yields. You want to grow out as many candidate mothers as possible and choose the best mothers. Then grow those out and pick the best from those. and repeat until you have your super-mother. Sounds like alot of hard work. And start from seed as cuttings from dispensaries are often not that great

Oh and the tents are excellent because they are prelined with mylar. The extra light makes a huge difference, as does a proper hood. He'll want to get a hood with a narrow spread for a 3x3 space. Theres a good little bit on hoods in jorge's latest edition of the bible.

light becomes your limiting factor, don't waste any light.

I just started a indoor grow a week ago I have feminized cheese I have about 1p about 2 to 3" tall allready real nice green leafs really showing impressive results so far under 24 hr 600 watt do u think that's to many plants for a 600 watt?

as what they say m8 ... LIGHT TRAVELS LOL i think the idea was not to crowd out the tent with 2 many plants sometimes less is more if grown correctly and thats what he has gone for... thanks alot mate for your advice and we keep in touch ... p.s one more thing whats your view on co2 boost buckets mate are they worth the investment or will plants get enough of co2 from the intake fan ??? thanks buddie

Yeah it will double to triple in size when it hits Flower. Happened to me on my first grow, I didn't account for it to do all that growing once it hit flowering

I just thought I would mention this because its pretty cool... it's unlikely that it will apply to your friend but I'll mention it anyways...

If he happends to be growing in a basement near the hot water heater and it happens to be gas powered... all he will need to maintain CO2 enrichment is a controller. Unscrew the vent hood from the top of the heater and the hot exhaust will vent right into the basement(exactly like a CO2 burner), then plug the heater into a controller so it will come on only when the CO2 levels drop. 1200ppm from what I've been reading is the ideal, and 1500ppm is actually detrimental to the plants(causes extra production of ethelyne the same gas bananas produce), and more expensive.
That is of course only if your friend doesn't use too much hot water, or doesn't mind a cold shower now and then. It's an efficient alternative to the expensive burners. Make sure he seals the basement well first, and he'll need a dehumidifier.

Are you describing the excellofizz CO2 pucks? those pucks you put ina bucket of water and they bubble out CO2 ?
Honestly I wouldnt bother with those because CO2 needs to be controlled accurately to get the benefits.
Firstly you need to increase your temperature from normal limits to boost the plants metabolism.
If you don't do that while increasing CO2 your just wasting it.
The problem is then that unless you actually know you have your CO2 level within the proper enriched range than you can't raise the temperature without possibly cooking your plants. The CO2 allows the plants to partially close their stomata which enables them to handle higher temperature. Otherwise they will lose too much moisture too quickly.

If your friend isnt using proper regulated CO2 he can't count on it actually being significantly elevated, and he should be venting his exhaust to the outdoors as frequently as possible to maintain aptmospheric levels of CO2. Which means any added CO2 will be vented away and lost

So no, I don't think it is a worthwhile investment

BTW is CO2 levels are not properly controlled and exceed 2000ppm, it can severely reduce yields

co2 sounds like a fuck around i didnt use it and my grow went ok ill give it a go when i get better at growing of corse but for now im gonna stay simple also im gonna move my flowering date back ten days im in the process of changing my setup building a platform so i can have my tanks outside and i got some stuff for scrog so what do people think of scrog is it worthit

Scrogs are great. It just means you have to spend the time with each individual budsite making sure it goes where you want it.

I'm thinking of doing some 100% pure sativa grows in the future and using a scrog is the only realistic way of doing that indoors.

Scrog done properly should give you about the same yield as a properly done SOG. The only difference is that it can be more labour for you to train all the branches and that you will need to do a very long veg. You should try to match your pot-size the total amount of medium you would use if you were doing a SOG. The way I see it: same amount of medium, same amount of plant mass(leaf+budsites), the same amount of light/intensity= same results as SOG. and once it's all trained you just have 1 plant to work with, which is great(unless your working from clone than it's the same plant in a sense)

And since you'll be veggin for a long time I would suggest buying a bottle of Roots Excellerator and using an even bigger pot that you would have before(by 25%). The RE will help your plant fill in the medium during the veg period. It does cost about 80$ however

What do you mean? There is no wizardry in a scrog grow. I'm just saying it's more work than anyone doing a big commercial op would ever want to put into it.

Primarly because you have to build the screen. Which also make it hard to reach the plant or move things around if you do a big one. And you need to give each budsite the individiual attention that with a SOG would never be needing(only a big deal if you are running like a dozen 1K bulbs...)

I'm sure you can handle it

On how big your space is, and how much light you have/how many plants you have, and how well you train/veg the plants.

If you have room to spare and enough light to cover more area(at 50w per square foot), then yes, it will increase your yield. If your light is already stretched thin or if you haven't got any more space to fill, then no it's a bad idea to scrog
