Re-vegetate after harvesting?(taking a harvested plant back to vegetation)

Hey there!
I have a plant that has gone through a partial harvesting about 2 weeks ago, it seems to be taking a long time to flower. :/
I took a few clones from the plant when it was still veging and now the rest of the buds are maturing and seem to be almost ready for harvest.
Unfortunately the clones did not live due to persistent cats and that-one-time-i-knocked-the-pot-off-a-shelf -_-
SO, I have heard from many sources about returning a plant to vegetative state after harvesting!
I would really like to try this as it seems to be the only way I can continue on with the same strain.

My questions are:
a. A few sources have mentioned leaving a few little buds on the lower branches intact. This, in my mind goes against the idea of returning a plant to vegetative state.
What do you guys think?

b. Have you actually tried this yourself or have any experience/knowledge of the whole operation?

c. Can I still do the 24 hours of darkness for the plant before harvest if it's a partial kind.

d. Is it better to cut of whole branches when doing a partial harvest or could I just remove the buds from the plant one by one?

Thanks for any input! It will be appreciated oh-so-very much! =)

yes i have done this and yes leave some of the lower small buds on her because they will grow into your new vegetative growth shoots , yes leave her in the dark for a cuople days then set her in your veg area but like in the corner ouy of the direct light , even kind of shaded if possible , dont water till your soil is dry and then only water with plain water , it will take a few weeks but yes she will definately re veg . have patience and those buds will litterally unwrap themselves and start growing green shoots gain that you can then take cuttings from and continue on ur stain.make sure you leave like 25 to 30 percent in little buds on her to re veg.

Thanks for the information! =)
I was just wondering, do you mean I should set her in the dark after the harvesting? And do you think placing her in slightly to the side of some not so good lights would be same as "shade"?

Thank you, once again! =))))))
