Enough to be tattooed so you can feel your ringer, low battery? Look like the Brits do it again.

Vibrating tattoo alerts patent filed by Nokia in US

Nokia's patent suggests magnetic tattoos could replace passwords on its future devices

Vibrating magnetic tattoos may one day be used to alert mobile phone users to phone calls and text messages if Nokia follows up a patent application.

The Finnish company has described the idea in a filing to the US Patent and Trademark Office.
It describes tattooing, stamping or spraying "ferromagnetic" material onto a user's skin and then pairing it with a mobile device.

It suggests different vibrations could be used to create a range of alerts.

When are they going to make the kinetic energy storing clothes pockets to charge phones as you walk? Come on people. That was being developed a decade ago...

I feel sorry for Nokia - lets face it 10 years ago most of us had Nokia's but they have been left behind by Apple & the iPhone (designed by a Brit too)
I guess this is a way of trying to claw back customers. Nowadays Nokia's are associated with phones that your Dad might own!

But isn't Nokia the company with the exclusive rights to the Windows Phone? Which is supposedly doing epic and expected to take over the iPhone. The iPhone is in second place with smartphones as it is. :p

Probably just as soon as someone figures out a way to charge for that kinetic energy. Can't have people charging their phones for free.

Yep they sure do - but in all honesty who really likes Windows Phones? Its Android Vs iPhone with Windows playing catch up.. (at least they have Xbox to fall back on)

It's all in the placement, would I get a choice of where?
And it could be very easy to tell text from voice mail or call
by placing the alearts on different parts of the body.
That might be fun hummmmm.

Yeah the Lumia is doing really well actually but that's the only phone that has made a dent in Android & iPhone's market share.. let's see if they can keep up & keep innovating.

Well the design seems to be borrowing from the simplicity and the cleanliness of the iPhone while still maintaining the freedom the makes Windows more purchased than the Mac and the Android more purchased than the iPhone. :p Just like I don't expect the Kindle Fire to topple the iPad, I don't expect the Windows Phone and the iPhone to challenge the Droid. lol
