hey sup man i gotta question did the seeds from marijuana nl ever arrive?
No I never received them or any return emails from them either.
I did get a package with a CD case and CD in it that I think was from them, but it had been cut open and stapled shut, no seeds were in it.

OK, so I've got 7 Kahunas above ground and growing like little monsters (really fat leaves).
WR1 is recovering nicely with some new growth.
WR2 I've pretty much given up all hope on.
Four more WRs are in soil and 1 is already popping it's head out to see the world.
The last of the WR seeds is still on the germ plate. It has a tail but it isn't quite long enough yet. I wouldn't even know which end to put down in the soil yet as it just wraps around the seed itself.
Just as soon as this last WR is into the soil I'll start the Black Rose girls. Hopefully by that time my Lowryder2 seeds will be here and they can follow.:peace:

I made a couple changes as to the way the girls are in the window.
I found this cool wire rack so that they are now teired and don't block each others light. And I now also have a fan blowing on them to help strengthen the ones with the long lanky stems.
All of the Kahunas are doing great and some are even starting their second set of real leaves. They sure are showing their indica characteristics.
The four WR babies have all staightened up and are working on their first real leaves (3 in the row by the window and 1 in the second row).
The fifth WR seed opened while germinating but never did grow a tail, I put it into some soil anyway and covered the cup with a plastic bag and if it comes up great, if it doesn't oh well.
WR1 is recovering well and showing new green, she just seems to be growing very slowly in a rather dwarf style.
The Black Rose seeds went onto a plate yesterday after soaking in water for 22 hours. Four of the six have cracked open but still no tails yet.

The Black Rose seeds didn't have a very good germ rate. Four of the six cracked open and looked like they were going to grow tails but only 2 actually did and they were quite short at that. I went ahead and put them in the soil anyway and am hoping for the best (crosses fingers). I didn't entirely give up on others yet but I moved them to the tuperware instead of the plates.
The good news is that my Lowryder #2 seeds came in the mail today and I put six of them right into the jar to soak overnight.
I'll do an update with pics tomorrow of all the new growth and progress of the babies.:joint::mrgreen:

Lookin good Big guy,

I learned when plants stretch they dont have enough light. Does your window have any direct sunlight?
If not you may want to see if there a way you can reflect more light on them.

Sorry to hear about the germ rate you got on the Black rose. Good idea not giving up though.
I hear some beans take a week or more.

Looking forward to that forest.

Oh yea, Nice Rack man. lol

Thanks for stopping in cruzer.
Yeah I'm sure they could use a bit more light. My GF says I fuss over them too much but I'm always rearranging them on my nice rack:roll:. That or the young ones start out low in the cup and I carefully fill in around them every now and then as needed until the cup is full. Of course they still keep growing even taller stil, thus the fan.
The house faces more or less south and they get direct light from about 10AM-6PM. Maybe I'll have to figure out something to reflect more light though. I would do lights but the only place that I can here is still too cold this time of year (root cellar).
Hopefully these BR seeds are some of the ones that just take longer, we'll see.
I'm really looking forward to that forest too. So much that I went and got those Lowryder 2's for my in between harvest.

Well I said I'd post pics of the babies today so here they are.
WR1 I think is going to be a mini-bush, she's not even 2 inches tall and is working on her fifth set of real leaves.
I can't get over the size of the leaves on the Kahunas, they are going to be monsters, especially #2.
Nothing yet above ground from the last of the WR seeds but all four of the others are doing great.
I just noticed that one of the Black Rose seeds of the 2 in soil has broken ground and will be spreading her wings tomorrow. I sure am glad these are fem seeds.
The six Lowryder #2 seeds that I had soaking are on the germination plate and I can see 2 that are sprouting so far, so they should be going into soil tomorrow.
The fan does seem to be helping the stems get stronger. I've got some ideas and I'm going to work on the light reflector idea over the next couple days, it's supposed to be cloudy and rainy the next couple days anyway.:peace:

Thanks, yeah I know the light isn't ideal this time of year but I just don't have any warm places in the house for a grow area w/ lights.
The weather is improving and I'm just trying to get a good head start on the summer grow for our short season.

so are you planning on vegetating them for the whole summer? or are you going to induce flowering? think of the size of a plant that vegetates for five months! talk about getting everything out of them. if you do you gotta take a pic standing next to one, it might get taller than you.

I'm not sure how you induce flowering on an outdoor plant other than changing the nutes, and that doesn't actually induce flowering.:?
When the plants are big enough to survive outside I'll be putting them in the ground.
I have considered making a mini greenhouse for them first though. I probably will do that soon, but it just snowed again yesterday:peace:.

If you need this bud for medical use you should look into SOG style growing to keep a steady harvest all year round. Grow those expensive seeds and pick a good female to be your mum, thats getting every ounce (cough) penny out of those killer strains you're working with.:peace: Besides, just growing these bitches is therapeutic(sp?).

easy as hell to do man, wait till 12 hours after sunrise and throw a tarp over your plants. might arouse suspicion, or be useless, depending on your situation though. oh yeah, dont forget to take the tarp off before the next sunrise.

Thanks titanium, but I just can't o the indoor grow this year.
I'm sure if all goes well I'll have plenty until then anyway without worrying about having a steady flow.
I have read about someone doing an outdoor SCROG thou that sounds interesting, I just might give it a go with a couple of the girls. Have to wait until after sexing thou of course.
If I did do you have any idea wcich stain would be best for that? I'm thinking White Rhino.
I am hoping to get an indoor setup together for next year, but I'm new here in my GF's house (the place was a wreck) and we have a lot of home repairs etc to get done this year, but next year.......

If I'd have to do that on all the plants everyday it sounds like a lot extra work or are you just saying to do it once to induce flowering?. Especially for something I'm pretty sure an outdoor plant will probably do on it's own anyway.:-?:peace:

OK, I made a reflector to try and capture and utilize as much of the sunlight as I can and hopefully avoid some of the stretching that the plants seem to be doing.
The reflector is a painted sheet of aluminum that I repainted with some silver colored high temp spray paint that I had in my workshop. I cut the sheet for a tight fit in the window and I have it curving over the plants. It is not actually secured to the window so I can remove it when necessary for watering etc.
I got this made late in the day today so tommorrow will be it's first day in use. If this doesn't work and the weather doesn't warm up enough to put them into a mini greenhouse I will have to figure out some kind of grow area using 4ft flouros.
