Hello. First let me tell you my set up. 3 x 3 x 6 tent. 170 cfm can fan. charcoal filter (3 foot) on the inside,DWC Hydro. 1 bucket. General Hydropnics Nutes.

I have done 3 successfule grows. All were 400w HPS (HTGSupply)with MH bulb (switched at flower) My first had 5 plants and used bag seed and I got 4.5 ounces.

My second and third I switched to 1 plant and used Nirvana Master Kush (feminized) and I got 5 ounces from one plant, I also did LST. I had HUGE HUGE HEAT issues. Im talking average temp of 90+ sometimes as high as 99!!

So I ahve figured out to use 1 plant in my small space. My heat probelm with the HPS was crazy. My main kola was burned. Burned real bad.

After researching on this site I decided to go LED. Using Nirvana feminized Bubbleicious. I bought a 125 watt starship form HTG supply. It says agromax. I My heat is now perfect! stays about 68. Only issue is my growth is slow. I am 4 weeks in usually my tent is fuller and it is 3 feet high. Instead it is 1 foot high.

I did have a major nute burn issue last week but I fixed that. I flushed 24 hours and went 1/2 strength and the evidence of nute burn is gone.

Right now my PH is 5.9 (checked twice daily) My PPM is around 750-900.

1. What difference in yield should I expect from the HPS with the MAJOR burn issues? I got .35g/watt (140g/400w)

2. If I bought another 240w LED (next generation from mine) from HTG would that give me much better results? I know it will improve, I am hoping to hear from other LEDrs who did it once with a smaller light then added more.

3. My general hydroponics nute program states 1080 ppm and that burned the fuck out of her. So it seeems to be growing slower than what Im used too. Should I veg for longer now? Normally I veg 6 weeks then flower 10.

+rep to all!

Can't offer you any valid advice on lighting yet, but Bubbleicious is indica dominant while Master Kush is more of a mix. Thus you should expect a lower growing plant on this grow. Perhaps not to this level, but it will be shorter.

I personally don't care for htg leds but if you're looking to replace a 400w hid u need at least 250 watts of actual led output not advertised wattage. There is a major difference between the two. Also make sure to buy one with 3w chipsets

Here's what their site says. I have had success with their products so I trust them. 120 watts power used. SO I am going to add another 240w LED from them. In the mean time if I add some random 150w CFL's, will that help?

 • The Tri-Band 120 watt LED GROW LIGHT does not require a ballast and simply plugs into any standard household outlet.
 • The Tri-Band 120 watt LED GROW LIGHT is manufactured using long life LED lights. These lights have a rated life of over 100,000 hours (there are 8,760 hours in a year).
 • The power use of the Tri-Band 120 watt LED GROW LIGHT is approximately 120 watts.
 • The Tri-Band LEDs are nearly 100% efficient at plant growth! This is 10 times the efficiency of a Sodium or Halide light!
 • Greatly reduced power consumption (uses only 120 watts!), over a year’s time, this will reduce power bills by hundreds of dollars when compared to a 600 watt HID system.
 • Less Heat Generated (very little heat, and what little heat it does generate is dissipated by the three built-in fans) Drastically reducing your cooling costs, saving even more money.
 • Tri-Band Technology, with special full spectrum output.
 • Plugs into a standard household outlet
 • Environmentally friendly, no hazardous components.
 • Low weight, only 8 pounds. Low profile, 8.5 " wide, 16" long and 2.5" deep.
 • Uses only 120 watts!
 • 3 Built-In Cooling Fans
 • The Tri-Band 120 watt LED GROW LIGHT comes with its own 6' Grounded Power Cord!

That's cool and I'm sure the larger wattage lights work just fine but I refuse to patronize a store that still sells those rip off 12w screw in and 14w panels. I bought a couple of the 12w screw in leds from htg a while back and they were total crap. They'll still sell you one for 25 bucks on their website which I disagree with.

tri-band? as in three bands of diodes? they're making 10 band now, the blackstar 500s I bought are 6 band I believe, they add UV and IR . Personally I've got two plants going under 1kw mh and two plants under 2 blackstar 500 (actual watts somewhere around 650 I guess) and the led are eating the mh.

I'm with hoss too btw, I went to htg supply retail store here and they expected me to pay msrp for an item because I couldn't find a fucking store that sold them to get a price match, who the fuck pays msrp anymore, it should be illegal to charge msrp because most of the manufacturers are proud of their shit whether it works or not.

This is the one i was going to get.

thats wanted i wanted to hear about the mh vs led! are the blackstar veg/flower or do you have seperate panels?

INTRODUCING THE 7 BAND LED PANEL! HIGH POWER 3 WATT LED CHIPS! 240 watts of LED POWER This is the newest of the new, the 7 Band LED Grow Light. This is a powerful grow light that will grow great plants from start to finish! BETTER THAN THE REST!
BRIGHTER - The 7 BAND LED UFO utilizes 80 THREE WATT LED CHIPS for unsurpassed light intensity - this is one SUPER BRIGHT LED GROW LIGHT! Beware of other 1 watt LED chips as they do not possess the light intensity needed for vigourous plant growth and hardy plant development.
WIDER SPECTRUM - The 7 BAND LED UFO has SEVEN LIGHT SPECTRUMS to help your plants grow to their full potential! 660nm Deep Red for Chlorophyll A, 630nm Bright Red for Chlorophyll B, 460nm Bright Blue for Chlorophyll B, 430nm Deep Blue for Chlorophyll A, 10,000 Kelvin White/Blue spectrum to fill out a complete light spectrum needed for plants to grow properly, 390 nm UV Light and 850nm InfraRed (IR) Spectrum for VIGOR and Mold/Mildew Prevention
HIGHER OUTPUT - The 7 BAND LED UFO utilizes 80 Three Watt LED Chips equating into 240 watts of growing power. This is MORE POWER for increased plant growth!
LED EFFICEINCY - Compared to standard Fluorescent and High Intensity Discharge (HID) grow lighting technology, the 7 BAND LED UFO offers lower energy consumption and higher watt-to-plant growth ratios. This means it uses less electricity to grow plants than other common sources because the light spectrums on the 7 BAND LED UFO are custom tailored for plant growth!
LOW HEAT - The 7 BAND LED UFO emits much less heat than traditional grow light sources (floro,HID,etc) creating a much more efficient and manageable indoor garden.
Specs & Features:

I just bought 4 almost new blackstar 500 off craigs list, they were used for like 3 months, good as new to me. First I bought one new at about 600 bux to my door. I was impressed enough to drop the 1200 on 4- 3 month old ones.

I'm damn sure no led expert, hell I'm not a expert any-fucking-thing really, but I do know the 500s are kicking the ass of the 1kw mh in veg.

that one you got 3 watt diodes or 1 watt? I'm pretty ripped to be doing simple grade school math

man my nephew tells me that 1 watt is the way to go but I'm thinking that someone that had a used panel with 1 watt diodes to unload on him was the shit, this is not the truth. we're moving to 6 watt diodes and probably more powerful on the way, the last panel I considered giving a try was a haight ppf 800 or some shit like that, used 6 watt automotive diodes and had abso-fucking-lutely no fans on board!

I dont' know which is gonna come out on top, there's so many different ideas about lighting nowadays, I'm running LED and the old proven HID when temperatures permit , UNTIL that is sulphir plasma makes it

he looked at my small 500s and said "my panels are this big ==============D
and I said of course they are, they're higher wattage and use 1 watt led, this takes up a lot of room.

Actually 3x 1w clusters are the most efficient and what most lights advertised as 3w chipsets are. I personally use hydroponics huts pg series but also still own a blackstar. Ive also used glh they're sold as well.

My heat has been so bad I think I will have better quality without the 95+ temps.

its tough (and expensive) to try them all!

Ive been thinking more that my strain has something to do with it. It is a short plant. I got hat trait specifically for my small area.
