Ditto.. Seems like people are stuck on looking for the easiest method of trimming without thinking of the best method to cure.. Cutting EVERYTHING OFF @ harvest is not Always Good, sometimes you should leave the tricome covered sugar leaves to prevent it from drying too fast. If you butch your bud completely @ harvest, sometimes it may not cure correctly if it dries to quickly
Right on raw... I had a 60% humidity drying environment for my first dry and left everything on... it took almost two weeks to dry, but the buds were primo flavor and smell. I will always take the longer road for a better product if possible. Shit, they came out of the drying room already smelling like flowers and almost no hay smell. With curing it just got better and better.
On my next harvest I trimmed everything tight before drying because I had the time... results were obviously a lot prettier because they were so well manicured but the bud dried too fast and ended up tasting mediocre at best.
My next crop, I will chop all fan leaves up front but leave all sugar leaves. I don't care how many trichomes I knock off trimming, because I collect those too. (Trim over a kief box)
And on the upside, whatever leaves stay on the bud due to not being able to get in tight tend to taste and burn surprisingly well after a nice long dry and cure.
