President Barack Obama was caught on camera on Monday assuring outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev he will have "more flexibility" to deal with contentious issues like missile defense after the U.S. presidential election.

Obama, during talks in Seoul, urged Moscow to give him "space" until after the November ballot, and Medvedev said he would relay the message to incoming Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Leaning toward Medvedev, Obama was overheard asking for time - "particularly with missile defense" - until he is in a better position politically to resolve such issues.

"I understand your message about space," replied Medvedev, who will hand over the presidency to Putin in May.

"This is my last election ... After my election I have more flexibility," Obama said, expressing confidence he will win a second term.
This the full exchange. Why the fuck is everyone so up in arms about this? When he wins the election (not if) there will be more Democrats in the House and Senate. He WILL have more flexibility than he has in his first term. So fucking what? Y'all act like he's selling out the U.S. or something. In case you have all forgotten. Russia is an ally.

He is already cutting our nuclear stockpiles by 80%

He owes the American people the truth about what he wants to do with this new *flexibility*

We have enough nuclear power to blow the planet up 100 times over. Do we REALLY need that kind of power? Isn't the ability to blow up the world once, enough? Once again making a mountain out of molehill because the scary kenyan muslim black man is gonna take your stuff!

He'll have more flexibility to sell us out. If it's no big deal then why doesn't he just come out and broadcast to the nation, "give me a second term so I can do all the things that I couldn't do in my first term but can't tell you about because, if I did, I wouldn't get re-elected"?
Russia is our ally? You mean like in Iran?

I don't really think that's it, I think people are sick of dirty politicians who only care about getting re-elected rather than doing their job. A major flaw in our system is that it costs millions to get re-elected. You honestly don't see what the problem is with this? It strikes at the very heart of an issue that you agree with really, too much money and corruption in politics. Why when someone criticizes Obama do you always devolve into this? Really what kind of liberal are you? Not a real one. Your an Obama Zombie.

Obama is really part of the problem, part of the problem that people on all sides rail about. In what way has obama been on the peoples side of the fence regarding absolutely anything at all?

lulz. That's a fantastic leap in logic.

Obama saying to the Russian government in negotiations
‘This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility.’ = He's going to raise everyone's taxes!

Seriously? Obama wasn't even talking about taxes. He was talking about negotiations with foreign governments. And yes, it's a fact that elections effect negotiations with foreign governments. That is a fact regardless of who is president.

If this is the worst dirt you can find on Obama then he must be doing a REALLY REALLY good job.

That's it, let's change the subject.
The subject was saying things you shouldn't in front of microphones right?

But if you want to make yourself look like a fool for being mad at Obama stating a fact that would be true regardless of who the president is, go right ahead.

santorum had to have staged that in a futile effort to gain relevancy. did you see the look on his face as he said what he said? he knew exactly what he was doing.

smart move by his campaign people, he will either gain relevancy or go out swinging. he was going to fade away if he just kept on keeping on, at least this gives him a chance.

Missile defense is not a non-issue. It is a very BIG issue.
I think you're missing the point. The righties are attacking him for saying he'll have more flexibility post elections because they are trying to reinforce the perception that Obama is a radical in hiding... " give him another term and he'll pass a bunch of radical socialist anti Christian/guns legislation oh noes!"

Its just noise... Nothing to see here.

He was pulling a Gingrich. Remember when Gingrich attacked the press and went up in the polls? That's all this was. A fucking stunt. Playing god damned games. I can't wait until this shit is over with and O'Bama can start his second term.
