Spider Mites or not?

So I've read enough about spider mites to be scared of them. About 1.5 weeks ago I noticed a pattern of indentations on the leaf between the veins, and some dark specs on the plant (which could just be dirt). I got a small magnifying glass and still couldn't tell. So I've been spraying Safers soap every 2-3 days, but she doesn't like it too much.

I used a a pic from RIU because I don't have a digital camera that works right now. My plant is about the same size as this one and I used paint to show the patterns on the leaf.

Spider mites? or am I just too worried?

Edit: I'm not seeing the pattern of indentation on the newer leaves, only the old ones. There is no discoloration on the leaves but enough dots might make it look discolored.

sounds to me like SM, but you can not be sure so try to go to radio shack and get their 11 dollar microscope,, that will work great for your whole grow, and for trichomes, but if you absolutely cannot get that, A magnifying glass with the extra magnification, (its the little circle in the glass) will work to see those little bastards,, they will reproduce fast so hurry and get something then we can see how to deal with whatever bugs your girl might have.......:peace:..........

I got a microscope from radioshack like you suggested. I tried to get a good look at the underside of the leaf but damn it wasn't easy. I had to pluck one of the more affected leaves and put it on the table.

I didn't notice any bugs or eggs on the top or bottom of the leaf but I'm no pro. Under the microscope the dots looked like.... dots. Maybe I finished off the bugs with the first spraying? I only saw 1 or 2 dots that looked like bugs the first time I sprayed.

Would you suggest I don't spray again unless I see more? or should I keep spraying for another week or so to be safe?

If I were you, I would spray 1 week from the last time you sprayed, then, wait another week and spray again, then hopefully you will have gotten all the bugs and if there were any eggs that hatched you would have gotten them too...............................:peace:.............................................................

If you do see any bugs they will be on the older leaves mostly and if you have buds they will feast on them, so it is good to try and get them before budding,,,,Oh yeah,,,, cooler temps is better,, they hate cooler, but the hotter it gets the quicker they multiply...............:peace:...........................

You can get a printers loop (mag glass) for about 8.00 at any office sup. store. You can also remove a leaf, turn bottom up on a white piece of paper and see if any small dots can be brushed off. If so welcome to the world of fucking s.m.'s. You also have to remove some soil from your pots. the top inch should be good, because the mite larva's will be in the dirt too!! Probably came from some un-sterilized soil
Happy hunting :)

It looks like you opened the pic in windows paint and put a few dots on a leaf. I think this thread is bullshit.
Thats exactly what i did, try reading before you rip on shit.

I used a a pic from RIU because I don't have a digital camera that works right now. My plant is about the same size as this one and I used paint to show the patterns on the leaf.

The plant is only 3 weeks old, so no buds. I'll spray again in a week or so. No I haven't repotted recently. I actually baked the soil to sterilize it beforehand too. I dunno if most people do, but I was trying to play it safe on my first try at growing.
