How Obama Runs America

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan". All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed. It could not be any simpler than that. Remember, there IS a test coming up. The 2012 elections.

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

examples, please.

name three bills signed into law by obama that are "socialism".

i'm sick of idiots who don't know what that word means.

The class that was arguing in favor of Obama's system called it a socialist system. Dam those kids who voted for Obama that don't know the difference!:cuss:

ya mean, the one that tells you buy private insurance or face a meaningless, unenforceable penalty?

nope, that is not socialism.

Why not? Forcing others to pay for others healthcare seems socialist to me regardless of how unrealistic and stupid it is.

The nation as a whole has been moving toward Socialism for quite some time in Massachusettes where health care is mandatory they will take your tax return and keep it if you do not buy health insurance. Patriot Act is very socialist. The airports operate in a very socialist way. Presumption of guilt, inability to travel freely, unincumbered and not be subjected to searches without probable cause are some reasons why Americans feel we are headed in the direction of Socialism. Taking my tax dollars and giving it to others, forcing someone to buy a product or service, not constitutional.

that is what happens when you can afford to purchase insurance but don't and pass on your costs to others if you eventually get sick.

well, too bad that you don't know what socialism is.

"There are many variations of socialism and as such there is no single definition encapsulating all of socialism. They differ in the type of social ownership they advocate, the degree to which they rely on markets versus planning, how management is to be organised within economic enterprises, and the role of the state in constructing socialism."

Mandating people to pay for a service that they don't want is not cool brah.

well, i don't want to be paying for the person who decides they don't want something they will inevitably need.

don't make me pay for other people's irresponsibility, not cool brah.

buying private insurance is not socialism by any stretch of the imagination.

Don't worry, this is an age old explanation of the position against socialism. I bet you this never actually happened in this teachers class.

This question is directed at any Right of center Republican who would care to respond.

If you were in charge, how would you handle healthcare for the poor and destitute.

Favors universal access to health care and associated benefits as a critical expansion of the welfare state.

Favors progressive taxes on the rich to redistribute income and wealth from winners to losers and to ensure that all pay their fair share. (As he has said: “When you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”)

Favors collective responsibility (as defined by the federal government) to protect all from social risks through food stamps, welfare programs, extended unemployment benefits, guaranteed health care, the bailing out of big companies, forcing renegotiation of mortgages, class action law suits, and other measures. (Instead of opportunity and incentive to succeed, no one is allowed to fail).

Favors carbon taxes, higher energy prices, restricted drilling and refining, and subsidies of green technology for the “common good,” even at the expenses of higher conventional growth and jobs.

Shows a distrust of market forces and advocates selective regulation, subsidies, and taxation to persuade or coerce business to promote the general welfare as he defines it. Industries not part of his collective endeavor (oil and gas and coal) are penalized. Industries that serve his conception of “general welfare” (green technology) are to be promoted even if the market rejects them.

I would cut away the analytical and math parts and boil it down and extract a nugget of golden wisdom such as this : Obama runs our country like a toilet. The pyramid cap stone warrior takes turns pooping with his money buddies, but noone must ever flush. Eventually December will have arrived and there will no longer be any available capacity in our beloved country's "seat of power" :D
