Jerry's Winter Organic Garden

So after monitoring the status of trichome development over the past couple weeks, I determined the Chemporer x Candy #2 was ready to harvest @ 49 days. I have to say I've never brought down a plant after only 49 days, but I have no doubt the timing was appropriate in this case. However, I only chopped the top buds that appeared to be sensimilla, leaving a majority of the pollinated lower buds to finish up with their seed production. The seeds look like they need about 1 more week to fully mature, which makes sense considering I pollinated on 3/1...had this plant gone the anticipated 60 days the seeds would have matured no problem, but because she was ready after only 49, they aren't quite finished. Looks like I will have a nice haul of (Chemporer x Candy) x Tahoe beans though!

Anyway, I got some pre-harvest images to share with you all, so I hope you enjoy. This plant grows very much like a true OG...kinda stretchy with solid, golf ball sized buds that are absolutely dripping with resin (got an incredible ball of scissor hash from the trim that I put on top of a bowl of LSD...HEAVENLY!). The smell, as I have described before, is most similar to the Critical Jack I grew out a while back: like a freshly opened bag of skittles. Lemony-limey-tropical dankness the lingers in your nostrils.

The next closest plant to harvest is either the Apollo 13 #1 or the Chemporer x Candy #1. Darkhorse could be the Sour Diesel, who really has been packing on weight in the last week or so. Either way we are still over a week out from the next harvest.

Stay tuned :leaf:

yup i'd definitely say she looks done. nice dense buds Jerry. that should work out to be a great cross. hopefully the the chemperor will bring the fruity, while the tahoe brings the resin. should be a good hash strain. I'll stay tuned in. take it easy :joint:

Thanks farmer. How you liking that Qrazy Train?

Dang Jerry, you sure do grow some dank porn ;) haha. Keep it up. Btw is short-flowering time a trait of that cross, or just a coincident with that one plant? Anyhow, good job and happy toking!

Thanks! I'm not entirely sure about the flowering time for this cross in general...my experience with OGs and Chemdawgs is that flowering time is usually in the 65+ day range, so I think it is more a trait of this specific plant. Hopefully it is a trait that will pass on to future generations!

Its great man, down to my last cola of it . Has great pain relief and tastes superb like musky grapes, but its hard to smoke all day so i smoke sparingly. I've been smoking hash for the last week and a half straight though. pulled a nice run of my outdoor kandy kush, and it makes some fucking bomb hash. you gotta grow it at least once just for the hash. pulled 9 grams, 4 of which were in the 90µi from maybe 2.5 ounces of trim. made a little hash dome out of an oil lantern glass chimney. but i digress.. my bad im just really baked:eyesmoke: p.s.- hope you don't mind me throwin a couple pics up in your journal bro

Looks and sounds pretty tasty. I'm slowly expanding my TGA repertoire (JTR, Space Queen, Querkle, Apollo 13) and can't wait to grow out some of these Spacedawg beans.

Yeah I've never had such a fast finishing plant. I guess it's a nice bonus that she is covered in trichomes and super stinky.

I let the seeds stay in the buds until I harvest and dry them. Usually I will pluck them out when I put the buds into the jars. I've already got nice chunk from the initial harvest, and pulled out another chunk from the second harvest I did yesterday (I just left the small popcorn buds, many of which had 1 or 2 visible seeds, so the seeds could mature fully).

So yesterday I harvested the Apollo 13 #1 @ 56 days. Like the Chemporer x Candy #2, this plant finished quickly, which is nice. The yield leaves a little to be desired, but my experience shows the best phenotypes are often the worst yielders. The smell and taste is intoxicating, very much like artificial cherry flavoring. The high is immediate and enduring, but very cerebral, with no couchlock or lethargy. The scissor hash was absolutely unbelievable. Unfortunately I deleted the only full-size picture of the entire plant, but I have plenty of bud shots and they are pretty telling.

These pics are from a couple days ago (4/6), but I haven't had time to get any newer ones. So here is the rest of the garden...

Sour Hazy Jones #1. Tall, but very huge buds and very resinous. Took a sample bud last week and it is potent stuff. Looking forward to this one.

Here is the Sour OG. She is very close to harvest, and smells almost noxious. When Sweve described "pure kerosine funk" I think this is what he meant, because wow is this strain stinky. And frosty. And dense.

Here is the Apollo 13 #2. Getting close...probably by this time next week she will be down. Has a spicy, baby-poo type smell.

The lights went out before I could get pics of the last 4, so here they are in the tent. White Widow on the left, Sour Hazy Jones in the left corner, Chemporer x Candy #1 in the middle, and Sour Diesel on the right.

I'll try to get some updated shots in the next couple days, but I've got a lot going on so it may not be until Monday :leaf:

Damn that chemporer looks fucking dank man... I know those crosses you maiking with is going to be serious from the potential of this strain

DAMN! Bomb as hell from what I can see. . . surprise surprise, lol. Not  Jerry did it again :weed: Nice one, brotha.

Thanks Bobo!

Looks great Jerry, love the purpling in the first apollo.

Yeah it was a pretty late occurrence for that Apollo. It smells and tastes like artificial cherry flavoring, the high is crystal clear but absolutely soaring, the resin content and bag appeal are unbelievable. The ONLY downside is the yield! I got about 15-20 seeds from the Tahoe pollen so far (through indirect pollination only), so maybe I'll find a better yielding version of mom in those!

Supa plants you got as usual.

Thanks Jeb, just doing my thing the best I can!

Yeah the Chemporer is pretty incredible. Pretty similar to my description of the Apollo 13 #1, though it yields slightly more, finishes a little quicker, and doesn't taste nearly as fruity. Neither of these plants produce very stoney/couchlock type highs, but both will take you to the moon (which is funny because Apollo 13 never actually made it to the moon...just saying...)!

As for the crosses...let's just say I'm probably good on buying genetics in the foreseeable future! I've got a small stockpile remaining of strains I've grown/am currently growing, and an even smaller stockpile of strains I've never grown, highlighted by the TGA Spacedawg, in addition to the large chunk of seeds I've made from previous grows (Deadhead crosses, Grape Stomper x OG crosses, Querkle x Space Queen crosses, Sour OG x Tahoe crosses, etc.) so I think a good majority of my future gardening will center on growing out and refining my current gene pool. Once I get settled somewhere it will be game on!

I harvested a couple plants yesterday/today, pics to come shortly!
