manurfacturers seem to have realized they sell more products if it just happens to be in those spectral outputs...hmmmm funny thing!...and these spectrums are NOT the most eficient to the human eye..

Every lightbulb used in a street light or parking lot light is an HPS or MH. That will never change. Incandescent light bulbs are being phased out for the CFL spiral lights. it's mostly for household domestic uses. HPS and MH will always be available for their powerful lighting abilities.

ALL of these places were founded for, meant for, and are a mainstay to FOOD PRODUCTION. to make things illegal, without a suitable replacement means a huge drop in a live economic market (Another thing the government wont do, they are PRO profit BTW...).
my point is this whole argument is ludicrous, grow lights will never be outlawed and we will always have ways of growing indoors, we always find ways.
Warehouse Lighting = HPS
Industrial work site lighting = Metal Halide
Box stores use HPS and MH Lights in a mixed spectrum...

Why does this not make sense? Well for one every warehouse I've ever seen has 1000w MH lights hanging in it's rafters, are they going to be told to change them or go to jail?

HID's will NEVER become illegal... They r used in SOOOO many other applications than just growing weed... Perhaps a crackdown on the "garden-specific" versions, but never on regular old core and coil kits, or digital setups... As a liscensed commercial/industrial electrician, I can say with certainty that this is a complete falsehood... Think of all of the industrial and commercial installations from power plants to commercial buildings that use HPS and MH fixtures... NO WAY will they be going anywhere anytime soon, if ever!

And fyi, incandescants will not be phased out either... They still play a huge role in these types of scenarios, too. They r just pushing CFL's more for residential use... But it doesn't really matter when it comes to cannabis cultivation anyways, as they are not at all suited to grow mj with...

Yes, incandescents are being phased out. They aren't producing them like they were once before. Just go to a home depot or lowes, etc. and see for yourself. They will never stop producing them totally because they are also used to provide heat for reptiles and for spot or flood lighting among other uses. I just meant that for average household use they are going the way of the Dodo or 35mm film.

The store is full of 2700k CFLs, damn that's alot of people growing in my area! But I will admit that 6500k is harder to find on the shelves.
