Why are my Leaves Pointing Upwards?

hey guys,

this plant is autoflowering lowryder 2. Its almost one month old. Its under a 100w cfl on a 20/4 cycles and the plant is 3 inches under the light. I got orchid nuts which its still getting grow. and a decent soil.

WHy are my leaves pointing up like this? what does it mean. Its my first grow so Im kinda clueless. plus the plant is still really small....

first of all you need more light get 2 or 3 more of those cfl's and second the leaves are ok they are normal
for a 4 week plant it should be atleats 14 inches tall. add more light and she will grow. or you can get a 250mh bulb it will cost ya less then 3 more cfl's

14" tall after a month? I'm on my 1st grow so i won't comment on that, just seems a bit high for a standard. His plants are small for 4weeks veg time though...

I paid $77 for a 150w HPS and I paid $75 for three 105w CFLs... CFLs are actually cheaper than most HPS/MH systems. Either way, you definitely need more light.

Can't get much closer than 3" away if he's actually using a 100w CFL. Well, if it's an ACTUAL 100w and not a 100w equivalent... Like I said, I have some actual 105w CFLs. The bulbs are like 9-10" long and if I put them 2-3" away from my plants, they scald them..

guys. SO i guess more light then? BTW my light is REAL 100w. Its giant. and I wonder if its too hot sometimes. I think I'm gonna trasnplant her soon. Any tips?

If it's actual watts, that light should be fine for how big it is now.

<----this is 6 weeks under a 125w CFL, which I'm flowering it under and it's doing just fine, so the light isn't the issue (not that it would hurt to get more in the future, but I don't think that's your problem right now).

But it should be bigger. It needs to be transplanted and I can't tell if there's drainage on what you have it in now, but that could be it, too, or temps, or a ton of other shit. I'd transplant it asap though, make sure your temps are good, ph, all that shit.

What pots are you using? Looks like glass jars from pic's, which will get waterlogged and not allow roots to breath.

stunted growth...no drain in that glass jar...and need dark container not see through....should keep an auto in the container it finishes in...transplant quick and hope for the best ..good luck

Imo at that age and size, it is NOT the light that is the problem. A 100watt cfl is plenty for a plant that small. The problem is likely more in using a glass jar with no drainage, your soil is probably getting no type of aeration at all. You'll want to break that glass carefully, possibly using a string soaked in lighter fluid, and lit, then dropped in cold water to get that glass off, and then put it in a proper container.

For comparison.... I usually veg my plants for 30 days, and I use ONE 23watt CFL up till about day 20, and switch on the SECOND 23watt CFL after that up till day 30. After veg, then it goes under my HPS. You're plant is particularly small and appears to have somewhat stunted growth given the amount of light you have for such a young plant, which is plenty.

lol mine do too...but they are not 3 inches tall at 31 days though...he has problems..that plant is severely stunted man

Oh no doubt.. just saying all these reasons for leafs pointing upwards are hilarious.. even the one that thought it was canoeing.

Here is a pick of my definition of a standing up leaf.. his doesn't seem the same more like its so stunted it's grown that way (like you stated). This is a week and half Chocolope Kush that is not all the way up yet as it just began the light cycle this morning. You get the idea..

i think it's the blinker fluid that's low.... this is what my lady looked like at 5 weeks.

i wud just start over..did u buy tht seed or bagseed? get a real pot to put it in with holes on the bottom. and a box of 42watt CFLs at homedepot. keep em real close like 2in
