At any rate. You folks over in the rollitup ivory tower need to bring back the like button, AND ad a "douche button". Too many douches and you get booted. Seems fair to me.
 
With all the ego on these forums I don't think giving people an option to douche someone is a good thing. Especially since all it seems you gotta do is disagree with someone and you're labeled as such.

The funny thing is that woodsy is the kid of guy that would look into serious suggestions or critisms, not just dismiss them out of hand. Probably is, he has already thought of most of the suggestions thrown his way.

Anywho, the STG, it it pretty supportive? It does look like pillow stuffing. I often thought about trying to use some old open cell foam from an old sleeping pad. The thing about hydroton is that if you have a little of it it's no bid deal, wash and rinse. Put when you have 55 gallons of it...then it is a complete nightmare. That was the SOLE reason why I left flood and drain. Fuck that noise
 
Using hydroton is like trying to keep a bunch of 5 year olds in the same spot for 10 seconds, you blink and there all over the place. I grew in dirt for years and got tired of getting rid of the stuff, now with the hydroton it's everywhere, and as legallyflying said when you have 45 gallon drums full of the stuff it going to escape LOL. I have been looking for a replacement for it the stg just might be the answer. I like to recycle but my plant health comes first so I am going to see if I can find the STG around here. Besides using a washing machine to clean the hydroton is so noisy.....

Just a note here, I tried the water fracturing pumps but they just don't put that much air into the water. Anyone need some water fracturing pumps, LOL.

one in the same, I'll post a pix of it. It's a Danner Magdrive pump with a serrated impeller with a draw tube and hose (venturi)

the pump can't be very deep or it stops working, I ran a 350 about 8" deep and just about any air stone will destroy it. Hummmm, I have a 1200 with the same setup in the box will get it going and show you, I was expecting to add more DO with them but maybe not such a good idea, will see with the 1200. Back later and have a great Easter all.

hydroton was the worst decision i ever made as well as being the most difficult medium to manage. is seems that the only thing bigbuddahcheeses mind is dollar signs...

Hydroton is a pain in the ass! always stepping barefoot on it sucks lol and your right its like trying to make a 5 yr old sit down for 5 minutes. It somehow ends up everywhere. Gotta check out the STG, I've seen it at the hydro stores just never bothered to actually consider it. Buds are filling in nice!

Great job uc!! I'm a first timer with a dwc 5gal tote in a cab and it sucks I wish I ha space like u!!!! Well 1 day till then my cab is a ok really just fixin venting.. Wish I could do pics sucks having to do on a down low but one day we can do here! Will be watchin the grow keep up the great work!!
