Baptist, not Southern. My church is independent, we don't belong to a convention. I drink, dance, smoke-well not cigs, and so do others.

If I am wrong and there isn't a God then all I've done is lived a good life. A life I can to be proud of. A life that when I pass I'll leave behind a trail of people I've met and loved. Some of those people I might not have known except by attending church.

I am lucky that I get much enjoyment from helping others. And it wasn't until lately that when I needed help they came out of the woodwork for me. I've found that you have to learn to accept help and to accept the love with which it is given. I've learned its the Ying and Yang, the give and the take that makes the world go round.

I found that the quiet acts of kindness for others can help cure a wounded heart. Seeing the true need and the thankfulness someone else has for what you've done and feeling grateful that you were there and able to help and it is you that is truly reaping the benefits that helping someone else brings.

I hope that I live a life that is a little sweeter because of my deeds and my beliefs. It is that simple.

But most important is my walk with my God.

My church works overtime to bring in the young. It isn't about how you dress, I wear jeans and gym shoes. It isn't about covering 'shit up'. Not all churches are the same (Thank God) and because they are different he might just be in the wrong church for him.

It isn't about looking like a rock star and all that goes with it, as long as you aren't showing body parts. In my minds eye if you or you music are detracting from what you are trying to convey then you are defeating your own message-not them. You see, sending a message isn't supposed to be about you. It's about touching the spirit of someone else and communing in the glory that you feeling in your soul and sharing it.

What I see is you want people to come and hear you as you think it should be played. But, in reality you are going to them and asking them to listen and you are putting out a product that you know is 'different' and you know you will not touch all people with the delivery process you have chosen. I'm sure they do not dislike the message or the messenger.

Peace be with you my friend.
I totally agree with what you're saying, WW, you are a fantastic member!

BTW I do think a certain degree of modesty is important for the sake of not distracting male members and you're not there to look sexy, you're there to worship. But by covering shit up I mean the corruption and bitching that goes on in church.

I understood with what you meant. The corruption is a problem in all walks of life. Power corrupts and all are susceptible to the pure sexiness of its control, some more than others.

I try to attend small churches I want to know the people I pray with and know what happens to the money I donate. In this church the books are open.
