Stretching during LST flowering

This may be a noob question. I'm new to growing and was wondering how much a LST plants total height will grow during flowering. I know the regular rule of thumb is to allow 3 times the final veg height for stretching, but wasn't sure about LST. Do each of the branches stretch as much as a regular plant would?

I have a couple weeks left for vegging and i was wondering if i should supercrop LST or both, so far they've just been topped.

Another related question- should I worry about where the main top will go in its stretch or will it just start growing straight up with the branches?

just LST in veg for now. i save supercrop for in flower, but other do it in veg.

I decided to just super crop them and the ends already seem to be standing up, plus I didnt break any enough to have to tape them.

Hi guys, Does SC really increase yields..?. And how long to keep SC into flowering...? Says 2 or 3 weeks max.. Also Fimmed some tertiary shoots 2 days ago and they really looking good 4/5 new bud sites just shooted today. Im just before atm flower.. Was planning to finish week 6 of veg and then start 12/12 immediately. To finish filling my scrog and stretch for the light...

So, if you use the "circle around the pot" method that means to veg until the plant is about 1/3 around the pot, right? In my case the plants is Kali Mist, so it will stretch a lot.

From the impression I'm getting, the main stem won't triple in height, but grow towards the light at a similar rate as the branches. So, that being said, I would assume it would be best to veg until its gotten as far around the pot as you want it, and then every thing will just stretch upward in flowering. But I'm not sure- that's just the impression I'm getting. I'll see if anyone else chimes in to confirm or deny what I'm saying.

Yep, the main will not.

If you didn't train her from the beginning. Let her stretch. Take care of it after the stretch.

look at the branches as a bunch of little clones. When you're done training them they will stretch just as much as a clone would. So if a 6 inch clone triples in height in 12/12 than a 6 inch branch would do the same if left untrained. You can always LST or supercrop to keep them shorter if you have to all the way till harvest.

In my experience the indicas seem to double in height , and the sativas stretch 2-3 times the height. i just tie them down one last time before putting into flower. Personally I think supercropping causes a great amount of stress especially if you break the stems. Either or you can make the plant look exactly the way you want it too. Although the main idea of this is to create a horizontal canopy of cola nugs.(this helps distribute an even amount of light.) hope this helps.

I just super cropped for the 1st time about a week ago or so, and I wanted to find out what might give me the best yield. If I top it then super crop those 2 colas or super crop just below the main cola without topping it, possibly FIM it, or LST it to reduce the stress would that help increase yield?

i wouldn't say it would reduce yield, i think supercropping causes more stress than lsting because you are bending/breaking the stem compared to just tying it down. Therefore lsting a plant would make it have a quicker recovery. The purpose of LSTing/supercropping is to make the plant think the main cola is no longer the top of the plant. when you bend the plant over 90 degress or below it shoots out these auxins that make the plant grow upward throughout the plant, making many more colas. In my opinion i don't think there's much of a difference between the two besides the stress factor. If yield is what your worried about you want some good fans oscillating on your plant, pick a good strain that has a high avg. yield, and use some good nutes or you could try subcool's supersoil mix, I have yet to try it but the guys a legend. Hydro will also increase your yield by quite a bit as well.

Right now I'm using FF grow big, and organic big bloom, will pick up tiger bloom once I get into flowering. I think I'll just stick with the SC/LST and not top it, not sure the name of the strain but its a good indica plant that I got a seed from last grow, I wanna try to keep it as a mother just have to find out how easily I'm able to clone it. So what would sea of green be is it a bunch of lil clones or one plant?

Sea of green is a bunch of clones that have a short veg time. You pack in 4 per sq ft (in hydro) or 1 per sq ft (in soil) and hope to get 1/2 ounce off each.

Yea, topping is usually done when the plant is like 4-7 inches, or works best when at that height anyway. SOG is sea of green. meaning you are growing as many plants straight upward to get 1 big cola each plant. people usually cut of most of the bottom and side branches from what i've seen. After you get some tiger bloom i would recommend picking up one of there additives, like big bloom or cha ching. FF's additives or almost all the same formula so theres really no reason to buy all three. TIGER BLOOM IS A VERY ACIDIC, so i wouldn't use too much maybe 1/4 or half of what the feeding schedule says. Also, be sure to flush your plants when using those synthetics nutes. If you don't the soil will have a lot of salt build ups and will lock out nutrients from getting to the plant and will also make buds taste/smell like chemicals.
