Alot of people in my ear telling me to change set up. You guys think I should?

Ya that sounds like a lot of risk having to grow so many plants. Especially if your a legal patient. For 4 weeks of veg though your going to need a bigger space. For example here is one of my plants that was vegged for 4 weeks then 2 weeks of stretch.View attachment 2112711I'd say do what works best for you. Your the one that knows what works best for you !! (just keep in mind how big a 4 week vegged plant can get.)
That's a beutifull healthy looking plant that like! Just outa curiosity how much will the average plant yield in ur op. And how long does it take you to manicure all that bud?

8 ounces a plant. (Trimming takes a long time)

The system I'm running is top drip, 5 gallon bucket. With the drain as close to the bottom as possible. So I only run air stones in my reservoir.

I'm going to be making a DIY on how my system runs. I'm in the process of building a bigger version of it now.

How do you guys veg for so short? Im running an ebb n flow system and my veg time still seems a bit slower than I would like. Im not sure if I am shocking them somehow or if it's just the genetics.

I think it's mostly the type of system.

For example, in my travels around the US I have seen many forms of natural hydroponics. In Yosemite and Yellowstone you can see many trees growing out of cracks in massive granite cliffs, or hill sides. These trees are being fed by NFT. Water trickling down off the mountains or hills feed these massive trees. (this is also why most commercial hydro fruit and vegetable greenhouses use NFT) Similarly using a bucket system with a drain at the bottom edge, one can top drip nutrients over the roots while maintaining optimum oxygenation.

this is very true, DWC imo is one of the fastest vegging and produces some of the best results besides a under current (which is just another form of DWC). my 4 week vegged plants are nowhere neat that in flood and drain but i have had some in DWC that where gigantic! great looking lady by the way mywhat.

I'd guess that is what a mom of mine would look untouched from a rooted clone with that veg, and I can see why it's being said 1sq ft is not enough. Is all I know is right now i have my 6 moms in bubble buckets under a 400w metal halide and that flat crank out clones for me. I take clones from a mom about 18 days in then hack her down completely about 18 days later for clones then start a new clone in her place. Works great for me.

So as someone said, just stick with what I know if I want to expand and keep doing sog. To address that very simply.....no way. I will not even consider it. Plant count is just too high. I want to sleep well at night and I don't think I could with a couple hundred plants under my roof. It's just not worth it.

So guys seriously though. I did some more measuring in my space today. I could really use some help with what I'm looking to do.

Bottom line is this. I'm used to ebb flow table so I will stick with that. I do like buckets but the simplicity of a table in a perpetual grow seals the deal.

So here's the deal, I remeasured my room and this is what I will do. I have room for a 5x10 tent. In the 5x10 tent I will have a 4x8 table and a 2x4 table, 3 1000watt lights seems to be about right. In the perpetual grow if I I had one big table I would not be able to flush because there's only one res. That's the reason for the 2x4, the plants can finish in that table with ro water flush. I will also have a seperate 2x4 tent to veg before the flower tent.

So here's what I still really need advice on. Do you guys think maybe a 2 week veg, then plant 1 per sq foot is my best bet to maximize my yield every 2 weeks? I don't know why I'm stuck on the 1 plant per sq ft in flower tent, the number is just picked out of the air by me for no reason so if you have a better suggestion than this please let me know.

Ultimate I will have 40 sq ft of table space so that's what I'll have to work with.

I don't veg. My clones come off the mother and spend 10 days setting root under 24 hour light. Then straight in to flower. My clones go into flower at about 9" tall by week 4 of flower they're just under 3ft tall. What style of growing are you going for? Sog deliberatly makes use of small plants so that you can cram much more in. Mywhat said before that his plants take up about 4 square ft. In that area I have 16 delibetatly small trimmed plants. If I ever went back to vegging I would switch to dwc because it is nearly twice as fast at getting plants ready for flower than other hydroponic set ups that use mediums. What is your medium?

There is no contest of plant health and vigour when it comes to dwc. If u were to use that as a mother plant how many 8" cuttings do you think you could take after that four week of veg? I would like at some point to switch to dwc for the mothers simply so I could keep less. I would like a dwc sog flower room but its just so much work especially seeing as I'd need 192 plant sites at 6" centres. Any of you guys ever seen a big (100 plants or more) dwc sog that was both practical and productive?

If the plant number is the issue i would just veg 4-5 weeks with 4-5 plants and train it SCROG style. Mimics SOG canopy effect without so many plants.

Ok well....just ordered a 5x10 tent. Also just purchased two hercules 1000w ballasts and sun system xxxl hoods. I will run 3 1000w's in the 5x10 with a 4x8 table and 2x4 flush table in there. The veg tent will be 2x4 with a 400w metal halide.

Still gladly take any opinions about plant count and veg time. Again, my plan is to have plants coming due every two weeks. So I have 8sq ft of plants to start every two weeks, however many plants that is. I was thinking veg 8 plants 2 weeks and have them in there 1 per sq ft.

dude i will shit myself if you can fit x3 magnums in that space and i will shit myself 2 times if you do manage to pull that off with the temps not exceeding 100 lol. i think you are pushing it a bit with the lights :) I had to change out my xxxl's for some extrasun 6's in my 4x8 and cooling that is fun lol. i think you have the right idea though, should be a good grow just change out x3 for x2 lights and i think you will have a great grow:)

Ya I just set up my 5x10 and I put two 1000wts in there and just had enough room , would have liked to put three 600's in there but hit a great deal on the 1000's I'm gonna do 10-12 plants in soil but when I get the cash I will switch to DWC!
My veg tent is 4x4 my strains are CBCdutch , white widow, MOB, and Pineapple Express here's a pic of my veg tent I have to finish making my carbon filter for my flower room and that it is complete, FYI I run one 600 mh in veg tentIMG_6256.JPG

My opinion is:
If you have cap on plant number(vs available space) go ScrOG and longer veg time.

If you don't have that restrictions I would go for SOG with 1-1,5 week of veg time (over rooting time) so your plants are about 20-30cm and they grow up to 1m (strain dependent of course).

I think the less time they spend in VEG is better for your wallet because if you are creating a monster in veg you are loosing time and even still you cant replace sunlight by light given. So no need to go in heights...
