Religion is a major part of almost every culture, but they can't all be right can they??? I believe in a god, and I personally accept Jesus Christ as my savior, but I don't think that that is the only solution. To explain this I'll try to explain with a very good example I heard recently. First, clear your mind, and draw a circle in your mind, now draw a circle around that circle so you now have a small circle within a larger circle. From the larger circle draw lines connecting to the smaller circle. Now think of that outside circle as humans, and the inner circle as god. The lines connecting them are examples of the religions across the globe. So we as people can choose any one of these pathways and end with the same result, a pathway to god. I don't believe that any religion is greater or more perfect than another, and that we choose to be followers of a certain religion based on our environment and personal preferences. But no matter what pathway we choose, we secure our faith in god. That, I believe is enough, and the fight over which religion is right is complete nonsense.

Then if none of the religions are right and choosing any one will lead to god, why would you have to choose one at all. Would you concider that just leading a good life is enough and bowing down to an authority figure unnecessary.

Word. Just look at what L.R. Hubbard accomplished. Jesus Fucking Christ some people are stupid. (That is not to say that all believers are stupid.) But most people simple can't live without a god.

And He makes their world so much smaller than it has to be. That's what's so ironic, to me anyway. Having served as a full-time ordained minister, I can tell you your universe expands exponentially when you finally are free from the god myths.

You don't have to be an atheist. But for fuck's sake just understand that powerful, invisible, spirit people watching over us- do not exist. It just a scary story to keep us in line and give you a bit of hope in our life of slavery - financial or physical- to the man.

Are we even remotely aware of the unfathomable size of the universe? Of our tiny, insignificant role in it and of how many other civilizations MUST have evolved in its long space-time?

In the words of the Budda: 'IF there are gods out there, they have little interest in our puny lives.'

Well said Stonerman but I believe your use of the word 'your' is not correct. The correct word would be 'you're', it is a contraction of the two words 'you are' as in 'you are a real asshole'. I hope this helps you to better communicate your deep thoughts with others in your life. With the exception of the grammatical error I feel that your post was insightful and well considered. I also have developed, during the course of writing this post, a serious attraction to you. There is no all mighty being dictating the world according to his plan, thats a foolish and primitive way of thinking. One being cannot decide whats best for billions, the president of the United States is a perfect example of that, hell, one man cant even decide whats best for another man, so how is it logical that one can decide the fate of billions?... However, I do believe that theres some amazing spiritual beings (that are not perfect) that probably contribute something to the world, but definitely not the way religious people think... I think for the most part we were given morals, and rules like gravity and spiritual science and mathematics and then "God" (dont know what else to call it) set us free to see what happends... I also believe SOME things in your life are destined to happen... I guess I'll end my jibberjabber right there lol
