I've been at this for a while and never heard of russet mites, I guess that makes me lucky. These sound like some evil little buggers. Makes me itch just looking at this thread. How common are they in MI? They guy at the local hydro store said a few of his other customers got some plant disease that was just killing entire plants for no good reason. I take a lot of preventive measures but holy shit, the only 100% crop failures I've witnesses were always a direct result of stupidity. People wonder why I rarely trade clones, now I'm a little scared of seeds too.
All this is just help drive the points home about properly compensating the grower, regardless of title (caregiver, freedom fighter). I've been looking at all the different books and magazines I've stacked up over the years, and thinking about how whenever I see a grow book I haven't read I'll sit and read it at the store. I bet I've damn near put myself through college by now. I can set up a grow from scratch (buddy for electricity)and tell you about how its going to yield right off the bat. I've battled and won spider mites and thrips. I understand that it is mostly easy but clearly most people cannot get it right. I also think a lot of people think they are smoking the best med out there and I would probably put there joint out after the second hit. That's fine, my taste have grown with my ability to grow and so will most of yours. I'm not trying to brag but most people are amazed when they finally get to try some top shelf work. That includes other growers, dispensary owners, old bikers, hippies at rainbow gatherings. I told everyone I know to shop around and see who has what and there are very, very few growers in Michigan that are qualified to provide medicine to the sick. Some will learn, most don't even know they suck and will just keep sucking. Mine goes to patients and recreational users and always at a fair price (not dirt cheap). I'm sure there are a lot of great growers that are doing the same as me and I'm just not lucky enough to sample there product. But I don't see how anyone who's only been growing for a few years can say they know it all. I have a ton left to learn. I think 200-300 and ounce is more than enough for most strains (if grown correctly) and I think anyone caregiving should be giving away some free or very cheap meds. I don't understand all this compliance with the law, sorry, just doesn't make any sense, they laws are wrong. As long as they can push, oxycotin, booze, republicans, monsanto, mcdonalds, etc. I'm not a criminal, they are fucked in the head. If everyone would see this they could not ignore it. I don't know why I keep coming to this thread and rambling on but I do. Thank your local grower, activist or anarchist for paving the way. We would all be smoking hemp if they didn't start the good fight long ago. Most countries were smoking weak strains and making them into hash, only because of prohibition did our farmer begin breeding strains so powerful the hash just grows right on top of it. I've seen all the propaganda movies about weed in the 1930's and it all looked like shit, although not that different than what some people here are paying top dollar for. blah blah blah..... keep your crazy ass russet mite the fuck away from me please! Ahhhggh!
