Usually what kinda time frame are you guys looking at when you all plant your germ'd seeds in your jiffy/peat pellets til you see'em pop the surface? Thanks in advance! :bigjoint:

It depends but usually in good conditions it may take only 3-5 days, assuming that the seeds are indeed valuable. You should keep your temps around 80 degrees for fast germination and remember to keep the soil most not drenched :)

They had good tap roots after germination. It's been right around that. Thanks friend.

no problem, i must add though that if you planted them after they had a tap root they may only take 1-2 days. I thought you meants planting the seeds straight into the soil, unless of course you did mean that then yeah.

No, they were sunk @ 24hrs just soaking in water. I then took the 5 seeds and did the paper towel method placing them on the plate and placing a plate upside down on that plate and setting them on my heating mat. @ 24hrs I had a semi good tap roots on 4 of them and 1 just failed to come around all together. So i put them back up on the mat, checked again in another 24hrs and 4 of the 5 were perfect looking healthy cracked seeds with nice tap roots. I then placed them in the jiffy pellets 2 full days ago and nothing yet so I guess we will soon see because nothing has broke the surface of that dang peat pellet yet.

Dont worry about, after about 5-7 days of no sign of life should you be worried ;) You're doing better than me, atleast for my first grow. The first time i tried to germinate 4 seeds ($40 worth) they all died on me, i ordered more seeds with the last of my money and i tried again and thankfully about 3 out of 5 seeds sprouted and i was extremely happy. Keep me posted i would love to see your progress and help along the way :)

I certainly will. I tired to upload a video of my grow closet to youtube but it always uploads jacked up so I gave up but I will definitely dig the camera out. Imma add ya to my friends list if that's cool & thanks again.

Day 4. No pop. =(
You may have put them in upside downs/sideways and they're trying to work themselves upright, could take longer, or if could use up all it's energy and die. Or you could be keeping them too wet and they rotted.

when I tried the pellets, it seemed like it was too compact... seedlings may be upside down, working extra hard to turn right.. I perfer to use loose soil.. even if its for just the first stages.. I dont want them working to hard out the gate...

how close is the light?

i bet the light is 5 inches from the top of the dome. I know they weren't put in upside down because I germed them and put them in tap root down. When I get back, I will throw up a pic of them how they sit now with the light.

i'd give them another day, i had the same problem the first i grow i ever attempted but all 4 seeds i bought died. If you have seeds lying around then it wouldn't hurt to germinate them right now so you can try again.

I imagine between the light and the heat pad, it's probably really hot in that "greenhouse". Could be a problem?

I thought that too yesterday so I unplugged the heat pad. Imma give them a few more days to pop and then imma dig in them and see what happened hopefully. I am done with the peat pellets tho. I am going straight to my pot in my soil.
